Day 4 - your favorite book
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It's one of the few books that I have read more than once and can actually quote. It always cracks me up and it is still relevant today. Plus, I'm pretty sure the reason I love my iPhone so much is that it is practically my own Guide. :D
I stumbled upon it in middle school while working on a writing assignment. My mom was helping me and made some crack about "42" and I was like "wtf?" and she said I should read the book. I had seen it on the bookshelf in the basement but assumed it was just an astronomy book. Yeah, I was WAY off. I've read all 5 books in the series (YES THERE ARE ONLY FIVE - TAKE THAT EOIN COLFER! I REFUSE TO READ YOUR "SIXTH" BOOK) but the first one will always be my favorite (and I think my writing journal for 8th grade had some weird HHGTTG fanfic in it...mostly because I was too lazy to make up other names for my characters and had a crush on Ford Prefect)
I lent this book to every single person I knew in high school. I think I even forced Adrian to read it. It's not quite as pretty as it used to be. Here is a scan of my actual copy:
