Been a busy week, but mostly allergies have been kicking my butt. And I'm a total wuss because I've only acquired allergies in the past couple years so I'm just not used to them and want to just stay in bed all day until they are over.

After my book drought in April, I've managed to read 3 books already in May! One YA, one Children's and two graphics but STILL! It feels so good to read. I hate when I lose my reading groove, it's frustrating!

OH and I sold some stuff on ebay this weekend, someone paid $72 for some star wars figures of mine. SUPERTHRILLED! This will definitely help with some of my impulse purchases this month (ModCloth is a DANGEROUS site).

Hung out with Mathew last night and we watched Mahou Sentai Magiranger which was strangely enjoyable. My little brother was the right age for the first wave of Power Rangers so I was familiar with the look of this series, but for some reason I enjoyed it more in Japanese? Plus this one has a cheesy Harry Potter side to it to the point of being like "Somebody gonna get SUED"

After that Tim started randomly scrolling through Crunchy Roll and we watched the first episode of The World is Still Beautiful which was very pretty if a bit odd. Then Mathew suggested JoJo's Bizarre Adventure but wanted us to start with Part 2 because he didn't care for Part 1. It wasn't really my style though. Didn't really care for the art and the violence was a bit too much. And the editing was weird. OH! And we watched the first few minutes of World's Greatest First Love which made Mathew blush. It's totally yaoi, made me think of ekaterin24

After Mathew left, we watched the first two episode of Attack on Titan (Tim had watched it with Mathew on a previous Anime Day when I wasn't around). I really enjoyed the first two episodes! Thinking that might be one we go back to regularly.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is so fantastic! The series currently running (Stardust Crusaders) is really good (better than I thought it would be). Bookmarking The World is Still Beautiful for future perusal.

Also, Mahou Sentai Magiranger is one of my favourite things ever.

Attack on Titan is such a good show. I can't believe how popular it's gotten in the US within the last year. It reminds me of when Fullmetal Alchemist exploded in popularity and lasted for a few years. I'm sure this show is going to do the same.

Mathew was explaining the uniqueness of the Magiranger series - about how red is usually the leader of the group but it's the younger brother of the family. How it's a family instead of just a random group. It was pretty adorable, especially the random song/dance sequence at the end.

Is it really rare for an anime that is currently airing in Japan to get so huge in the US to quickly? Do you think this is all because of sites like CrunchyRoll, allowing more people access to anime like this?

We just got the manga in...I'm tempted to read ahead but I feel like it's probably more fun to watch.

This is what I have noticed for a while. Some will have a cult following and then when they start to air in the US, it explodes in popularity. When people start to rave about a certain animes on forums and other sites(now even social media)while it is still in Japan,It really explodes and the gossip train takes effect.

I don't think it's because of CrunchyRoll because I noticed this happening way before the site was popular. I think it's due to these other sites before it that stream anime or host certain shows that help them to take off. I remember back in the day before CrunchyRoll was official, I used to go there for rare animes.

I haven't read the manga yet since it was cheaper to just watch the anime lol. Makes me wounder what they left out. Some animes stay really close to their source material.

I have had a lot of friends talking about ModCloth. I haven't gone on yet and that is probably a good thing, ha!
