new Fall Out--- er wait, now Panic?...really?

So...this is the new Panic! At The Disco song...which sounds a little too much like a Fall Out Boy song to me.

Vices & Virtues is my favorite album by then, and it's probably in my top albums list. I just love the flow of the whole thing. This song isn't doing anything for me. Maybe when I hear it in the context of the album...

Honestly though, the first time I heard it, I ended up humming the new Fall Out Boy song afterwards. I like FOB, but prefer Panic.

ia about how it sounds similar to a FOB song, but I do like how it could be catchy? Can't wait to see how the whole album concept pans out.

Yes, I love that Panic still makes full on albums and not just collections of singles. And, as with most bands, the singles are usually the weakest song on the album, so I haven't given up yet! :)

Now come to think of it, you're right! Panic has a very consistent album flavour but they always release the not-so-good songs as their singles. Hope they'll surprise us this time round!

Hm. Not sure which FOB song you're referring to, but I definitely used to get them and Panic! mixed up. Brendon and Patrick are so similar vocally.

Agree with the catchy though. I only have "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out," but it was a lot of fun. I remember when I first "discovered" Panic!, it was right at the same time as FOB, The Killers, Maroon 5 and My Chemical Romance--all those bands hitting the popular airwaves at once. So I was like, "Hm, okay, one of these bands is going to become my New Favorite Band Ever, but I dunno which one, so let's get ALL THE MUSICS and let time decide."

Wound up with MCR. But yeah, all those guys remind me of a great time in my life, with a lot of great music coming out at once.

The newest FOB song...um...what is the title..."Light 'em Up" or whatever. Just find the mix/production very similar, more so than usual.

I discovered Panic and FOB at the same time so I tend to lump them together but, in the end, I prefered Panic's sound.

I need to listen to more "My Chemical Romance". Wonder if they are on Spotify....

Oh, okay--I don't think I've heard that one yet. I also lean slightly more toward Panic, but only slightly.

You really do. They are my second favorite band of all time (the first being The Beatles). I don't know what Spotify is, but I went linking many videos when I did my retrospective right after they broke up. (I tagged all those posts with this, if it helps.)

And that's why I love bloggers. :) I'm totally gonna hit up that list and give them a try.

<a href="https://www.spotify.com>Spotify</a> is my new favorite thing. You can stream music for free and it's totally legal. Lots of debate about how fair it is for artists vs labels etc. right now but I'm just excited to have a way to try out new music (even if it's older bands). you should totally check it out! I love it.

Honestly there really isn't much of a difference in how both groups sound, to me? Like they're both kind of going for the same...vibe. Idk, though, I've never really considered myself a big super fan of either. They've both had songs I've enjoyed and I think I own a few PATD albums, but yeah.

I think I "discovered" them at the same time so I tend to lump them together, but eventually Panic beat out FOB on my iPod playlist so Panic is my favorite of the two. SO the only reason I can probably tell them apart is that I actually *know* Panic songs where as when FOB comes on I'm like "WTF is this OH it's fall out boy..."
