game time: Dishonored
SNOW DAY which means GAME DAY! Plus, poor Tim is sick so I had to keep myself occupied and not bother him while he slept some more. If a miracle does not occur tonight, we're going to the doctor tomorrow when the roads should be clearer.
And Game Day = Dishonored! Game spoilers under the cut, obviously, if you care.
So today I got a taste of the different ways this game can go. The first time I tried to play through, while wandering the Distillery District, I saved an old guy from some thugs. He was nice to me and I was pretty sure he was going to supply me with some helpful items next time I met him.
Now I've restarted the game and when I played through that area again, I never made it to that part of town. It was an alternate mission and I decided not to go there this time, focusing on just getting through the main story. So when my second mission took me to the same part of town, I was like "oh yeah, I should talk to the old guy" and went to look for him. Alas, he had caught the rat plague and had become a "Weeper". He shot him with a sleep dart and found a note saying the ruffians kept him from getting his medicine.
SO NOW I HAVE GUILT ABOUT THAT!!!!! I WILL SAVE YOU NEXT TIME!
I'm also curious the maybe-crazy-maybe-not old lady tried to get me to poison the Bottle Street Gang but I decided not to, thinking that poisoning the providers of the rat plague "cure" would probably not be a good idea. Then the next mission I got was to work WITH them to find out how to infiltrate the place the young empress was being held prisoner. If I had put the poison in there, I'm guessing they would not have been so friendly.
I actually made it through that mission without killing anyone! I did get spotted, but I did the nonlethal solution to getting rid of the two baddies! The next mission, however, has been problematic. You have to turn off these big electric zapping things...and I have zapped poor Corvo more times than I can count. That is where I am stuck now.

Haha yeah, Granny Rags. I usually don't do what she asks cause it's just so wrong! But I did this time cause I'm trying to get the (secret! whoops!) achievement for doing all her missions. She gives you runes as a reward though! So I am not too broken up about it. & if you poison it, they're mad about it but they don't know it's you, which I found out. I was thinking they were going to be hostile, too.
Do you have any rewire tools? There are two ways to take care of those zappy things. They all have cables running out of them. If you follow the cables they take you to two electrical boxes. One you can open and remove the whale oil, shutting it down. The other, my favorite, lets you re-wire it (if you have a re-wire tool) so it kills everyone else and leaves you alone. The trick is getting to them. I mainly spam Blink a lot, like I do for the rest of the game, lol.
Also, there's an achievement to get to the top of the bridge! You should try for it since you're there already :)

AND RIGHT! I almost killed her this time, lol. That would've been bad.

No kidding? I'm not a huge gamer, as you probably know, but I'm kind of amazed--in a good way!--that game exists that allows you to do that.
