We had a patron call us at the library last week to tell us the mail was slow. I told him, yes, this all started earlier in the year with the budget cuts and the post office is suffering. His response? "Oh, I guess I heard about that, but I didn't think it was going to effect me."

That was THE most straight/white/male American thing I had ever heard. "I didn't think it was going to effect me."
