Note to Hollywood

Please PLEASE stop making these stupid, "Unrated" editions of perfectly good comedies!!! I just went to go look for a widescreen version of 'Knocked Up' on Amazon to put it on my wishlist, and of course, the "Collector's Edition" is the stupid unrated version.

Ugh, they did this with '40 Year Old Virgin' and 'Anchorman' too. And I like having all the extra features on my DVDs, I enjoy watching them. So I want the DVD that will give me the most extra features for later. But that DVD, it seems, will not actually contain the movie I viewed and enjoyed. It will contain a film that is very similar, but with jokes that were originally CUT inserted back into the show, thus messing up timing/speed/humor etc. -- all the things that make a comedy work.

I was just thinking about this because I lent a friend '40 Year Old Virgin' on DVD. I saw this movie in the theater, loved it, bought the collector's edition (aka Unrated) DVD. Which has nice bonus features but STUPID jokes that were not in the original movie. So now, I'm realizing why she probably didn't think it was as funny as I did - because we did not see the same movie.

And now, this can happen with 'Knocked Up'. And probably the same treatment will be given to 'Superbad' -- Look people, if Disney can make it so I can turn off the extra song on the 'Beauty and the Beast' DVD and watch the movie without it, then you can find a way to let me skip the "new scenes" when I just want to watch the regular movie.

*sigh* Maybe I'll just get the regular Widescreen edition...all I really want is the gag reel and commentary tracks...I supposed I can live without the deleted scenes and general goofiness that I'm sure they will create to fill a second disc.

la la la I'm at the library, working until 5. Sundays get you time and a half, so I'll have a little bonus cash to for Bermuda fun. I can't believe it's only a week away!! By this time next Sunday, I will be on a plane (well, actually probably sitting in JFK airport in NYC waiting for my flight) but either way, on my way to Bermuda!

I'm so excited!!! I haven't been on an adventure in awhile. And it will be so nice to be not here. In no way tempted to do work of any kind. I need to sit down and make a list of what I need to pack. I want to have all my bags ready to go by Friday, because I work Saturday. The biggest thing on my list is to get a disposable underwater camera for when we go snorkeling.

I'm hoping since it will only be the second week of classes, nothing major will be due. I might try to contact my professors this week and alert them to my absence. I assume that since this is an online course designed for people who are already working, they will understand that I have a life. haha.

I want to make a new livejournal banner...I have another Kristen Bell banner I made the other night using more of the Geek Monthly photoshoot. Kristen + lightsaber = OTP. I'm so psyched to see her on HEROES! I hope she's in the first episode. From the blurb I read in 'Entertainment Weekly', she sounds very Faith like to me...

...one hour and fifteen minutes until we close...come on clock, lets go! I gots me some Simming to do!
