tv thoughts: Dollhouse
Ramblings about Dollhouse - True Believer
I have to say, I really enjoyed this episode, mostly because you could really fee the Tim Minear touch. Again, I wasn't super thrilled with the main plot, but all the little things happening around the plot have gotten a lot more intriguing.
- The scene between Topher andFredClaire in regards to Viktor's "man reaction" was hilarious. I probably could have watched an entire show of that haha. ("Can you freeze that?" "NO!") Of course, the whole comedic moment masked something much more sinister - what will they do to Viktor or Sierra to remove temptation?? It's not his fault! Or her fault!
- The story of the religious cult didn't do anything for me, mostly because it wasn't as deep as I had hoped. I did appreciate the twist that it was the cop who planted the "Save Me" note, but since the Dollhouse isn't law enforcement, solving that mystery doesn't mean anything - that guy won't be punished.
- speaking of people that need to be caught, what's up with the Gray-Haired-Dude at the Dollhouse that hates Echo so much? When he snuck into the church and punched her in the face, he just leaves...what is he, a James Bond villian? ("I'll just assume everything has gone to plan...what? what?") Or is he just supposed to be a total masochist and he likes to hit her because he knows there will be no repracussions? He had to know that her Watcher would rescue her!
- more pieces to the puzzle - what is the Boss Lady's connection with Echo? She really doesn't want her touched (at least by HER people). Hm...something tells me that Caroline/Echo's case might have been different from the average Dolls?
- I really don't want their to be a romantic relationship between Echo andSpecial Agent Helo Paul. He appears to be married to his work anyhow, but I would also feel very bad for Mellie. They are clearly setting them up in some way (though being a Whedon show, he'll notice her the episode before they decide to shoot her dead.)
I can't wait until they move away from the assignment-of-the-week format and get into the main story arc. I'm sure FOX pressured Joss to make it have more stand-alone episodes, but you know he can't be held back for long. The show has me asking questions, which is good because it means I'm engaged, right?

Ha! That wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Lasagna-girl (actually I think it was manicotti this episode) is a strange one. I think she's a doll.

I am still holding out that they get together and the plot twist that pulls them apart is that she is a Doll too.
We're all clearly on the same page.

-- Yeah I was a little disappointed by the cult thing. I'm usually more interested in that kind of plot, but it was hardly developed. It was more about that one ATF officer being a douche and the security officer at the Dollhouse being a douche than anything else.
-- He should DIAF. I really don't like him, and clearly from the end Echo remembers that he is not a good person. Like in the earlier episode when he was telling her all this mean stuff to her face right in the middle of the Dollhouse. What a fuckwit.
-- Yeah DeWitt (boss lady) seems to be getting fed up with the security officer guy's douchebaggery too. Which is promising.
-- Mellie/Paul ftw. Which means it will go down in flames just after he realizes she's there and has boobs or just after they get together. Plus, I am still holding out that they get together and the plot twist that pulls them apart is that she is a Doll too. I loved that interaction with them this episode though with her bringing his meds and having a key to his place. (D'awwww) Plus some manicotti. lol. I relate to her so much. Lookit! I made you some food! Love me?
-- The preview for next weeks...let's just say I can see why they kept saying wait till episode 6. It looks good.

I'm calling him Officer Fuck Wit in the rest of my recaps. I suggest you do the same to avoid confusion.
DeWitt...why can I not remember that!?

Oh I certainly can be on board with that one. I have no interest in recalling his real name.
Prolly for the same reason that I can't remember her first name. XD

I'm with
I can't wait for this week's episode as both Eliza and Joss have been pitching episode six as the episode when the show really comes alive :-)
It's going to be FRAKKIN' AWESOME!

Hahhaha, yeah, Mellie is a rogue doll and her special skill is Italian Pastas! Maybe Alpha has problems with Gluten and she will kill him with a lasagna.
I want it to be Friday...but not BSG Friday, just Dollhouse Friday. hehe.
