31 Days of December meme: Days 17-19

Whoops, missed a few days again! It's been a little insane here with the shopping, the snow, and just the anticip..................ation of the holidays.

I was working on a project today and realized I am woe-fully low on images of my family, especially recent images. My New Year's Resolution is to take more photos with friends, family, and myself in them. I have this bad habit of taking picture of things and time goes by so fast...heck, my brother changes his hair like every two weeks so pictures of him feel immediately outdated. Def. going to start carrying around my camera and using my iPhone camera more.

ANYHOO - meme under the cut (because I'm in a photo-y mood)

Day 17: an art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture...)
BFFs 4 Life
Electric Tiki Willow & Buffy! My first grown up collectibles (i.e. they cost more than $5).

Day 18: whatever tickles your fancy
Christmas, 198?
Found this while going through old photo albums. I know it's pre-Vincent, and that's not the Maryland house so I'm pretty sure it's gotta be somewhere in 1986-1988. I've got the Barbie pony in my hand (the one that BLINKED when you tilted her up! Oh SO high-tech!).

I can also see the Julie doll on the chair and some exta clothes for her in the toy pile. Also a high tech toy - she talked! She had these little metal things on her fingertips and you could make her touch certain spots in her books and she would read them to you. You could also talk to her...though it made you talk like a character from LOST since you had to say her name EVERY TIME...

Me: Julie
Julie: *blink blink* Yes?
Me: Tell a story.
Julie: "blah blah blah blah" *blink blink*
Me: Julie.
Julie: Yes?
....and so on.

Day 19: a talent of yours

Uuuuuh. Hm...I used to play flute. Haven't done that since High School though so I'm pretty sure that talent is probably gone...the flute is at my parent's house, in the closet o' doom (I swear, we went in there on Sunday last week and it smelled like something may have died in there...that or I saved a sandwich in there back in high school and forgot about it).

OH! I can sometimes make pretty things!

I had a baby-doll that blinked like your Barbie pony. And a Ken doll with removable-and-replaceable (up to a point) facial hair: sideburns, moustache, and two styles of beard. Can you tell I grew up in the 70s?

You make the most delightful banners and icons!

My poor Ken doll had bad hips. When you'd try to change his clothes, his leg would pop off, so he pretty much existed in the outfit he came in. My mom wasn't a big fan of Barbies but they kept getting gifted to me by random friends so I had a few. I preferred Whitney though, to a blonde kid like me, she seemed more exotic !
