why do I even bother?
Okay, so was anyone else completely frustrated with last night's episode of 'Lost'? Why are they fabricating "mysteries" for a show that already has PLENTY to go around! The whole "how do they get back to the island" thing could have been DONE in 15 minutes. Ugh. UGH UGH UGH!
Did anyone else feel like the writers were trying to do a Jedi Mind Trick when Finnoulla Flanagan told Jack to pretty much ignore the plot and be more concerned about if he can get back to the island??
Um, and didn't they forget one VERY important thing - how are they going to get back off the island again?? Is the plan really to go back and live on the island forever??? How is that helping? What's the point?
Oh look, Kate & Jack slept together (nice that he didn't take advantage of her in a vulnerable state or anything)
Oh look, Kate is being a total bitch again, giving Jack the cold shoulder...what a SHOCK! Wow, look at those plot twists!
Lesson from Ben: if Jack starts to question you, just tell him a random story that has absolutely nothing to do with what is going on. He usually forgets whatever you are talking about and spends the rest of the night trying to figure out how he fits into said random story.
And I let out a little "w00t" when I saw Hurley reading Y The Last Man, but then I remembered that BKV now writes for LOST and it was less a cool reference and more product placement.
And why was Hurley the only one who realized everyone else on the plane might be in danger? And why didn't he realize it for the economy class people?
And the previews for next week? DO NOT WANT! Or more like DO NOT CARE! It's over, it's the past, he's dead, whatever. I don't care if he dresses up like a Jedi, I want to know what is happening with the rest of the characters.
I might return to my LOST viewing style of last season - reading
jellibean's and
demonqueen666's recaps and deciding if it is worth watching or just reading the Wiki entry.
This is why I won't watch Fringe - J.J. is great at a first season but the frakker has no plan.

I thought it was a decent episode, but I'm far more interested in the island centric stories than the Oceanic Six. And Kate and Jack just annoy the hell out of me anyhow. They're both far too whiny and "woe is me!"

And I just realized this week this episode has absolutely no flashing back or between, it was just a straight, linear episode. Hm....perhaps that also worked against it for me.

i actually liked this episode. what's up with ben? did he tie up the loose ends (ya, know, kill penny?)
but i prefer my island people. so do you think they have been stuck in that 70s time period for the past 3 years?

LOL.
I don't know if I'll be able to muster up recaps. LOST is becoming a bit of a chore. I am SO SICK of Kate's whining and how manipulative Jack is.
I always liked the stuff about the DHARMA Initative because there's so much history and things to learn about there. I'm looking forward to spending more time on the island; it would be awesome if Sayid got sick of Jack and Kate's bullshit and killed one of them. Or both of them.

I was talking about this with a friend yesterday and it dawned on me - NONE OF THESE CHARACTERS HAVE GROWN! In season 1, all the whining and manipulations etc. were forgivable because they were newbies, but it's been too long, they should have learned some new skills as people. Ugh.
It is a chore to watch. I might start watching it the way I watched '24' (back when I watched that) - fast forward until it looks like something is actually happening....
