We just finished watching the finale and I did cry, though my feelings are more about the show as a whole rather than just the finale. The episode was good but the sadness I feel is from the gaping hole in well written comedy that this show will leave. I feel that same sense of loss that I did when 'Angel' went off the air -- who will write shows for me now?

If I had known that this show was about friendship, about all kinds of friends (even more than the show FRIENDS) I would have stuck around when Season 2 started. Instead, I was just introduced to Pawnee, Indiana this past year and I lived there for several months and now I've had to leave and it is so sad.

Are there any other Leslie and Ann level friendships on TV?
Are there any Leslie and Ben relationships on TV?
Are there any Tom and Donna friendships on TV?
Are there any April and Andy romances on TV?

I think it will be hard to fill this void. I miss all the characters so much already. This season felt like a bonus, and I was so glad that we had those 13 episodes to completely say goodbye to them.

I did check out all of the Parks & Recreation DVDs from the library so I can start watching the episodes with commentary. I'm not ready to say goodbye yet...

That are currently running? I don't think so, although admittedly I don't watch much TV. It's sad, actually.

It will definitely be a hard void to fill. But I hope television takes a cue from Parks and Recreation.

Any show after Parks & Rec would be a hard act to follow.

I haven't gotten into it, but I know how it feels to lose something that means a lot to you. (((huggles)))

Parks and Rec was such a special show. I just marathoned the final season today and was so glad for the last day in Pawnee. Of course there's always the option to rewatch but there's definitely a hole in my heart for this show. It just had something so genuine that a lot of shows don't manage to convey.

I don't watch as much TV as I used to because I think I have become a harsher critic in my "old age" LOL. But it's hard when you turn on a brand new show and see all the same old tropes, which is why I tend not to make it past pilot episodes anymore unless someone on LJ alerts me to a show I should be watching.

It's so true. I was watching something on Hulu today and there was a commercial for P&R and I was like "aaaaw no more new episodes!!!"

I got into it in 2013 so a bit late to the game as well... I wish I would have kept watching after I didn't like the pilot the first time around but alas. I'm happy I did eventually get into it so I got to spend some time in Pawnee but now there's this empty hole and I'm not sure there'll be another TV show that will be able to grab me the way Parks did so I completely understand you and I think I'm going to say NO to all four of your questions because I really can't think of any like it...

Once regular TV calms down a bit I think I'll rewatch it (for the third time lol) so I can spend some more time with them. I love the DVD commentaries! I hope they'll bring them back for the S7 DVDs. Hope you're enjoying them!
