Just watched "Open Your Eyes" the spanish film that "Vanilla Sky" was based on. I never actually saw "Vanilla Sky" so the whole thing was new to me. I just read the spoiler for VS on themoviespoiler.com to see how it compared, and from what it says, sounds like they just photo copies the movie, using big hollywood names and translating the business part of it into American. Of course, my intense dislike for Tom Cruise would make the movie hard to bear, since I really don't give a crap what happens to him haha. "Open Your Eyes" was pretty good, very well written and lots of plot twists and turns. Penelope Cruz was actually quite good, though she really isn't in the movie that much, it's mostly just the main guy.

Just checked "Rotten Tomatoes" and Vanilla sky had a 50% and "Open Your Eyes" has 82%. From browsing the reviews, it looks like they left all the deep stuff out of Vanilla Sky. Open Your Eyes has a lot of "what is happiness to you?" and "what is reality?" type of questions which make it watchable even when you're not quite sure what the hell is going on. If the American version is lacking those moments (which I would not be surprised by) than no wonder it got lesser reviews. It also sounds like Vanilla Sky dropped far more clues as to what was going on than Oepn Your Eyes. Unless the clues were there but you had to be move familiar with Spanish pop-culture, which could be true.

Went to The Limited this morning for the fall meeting. I feel like I've been brainwashed after watching their video about the fall pants and how to sell them. *sigh* and now that it's fall, the real selling starts and the pressure will be on. I guess the question is, should I look for another part time job so I can quit the Limited, or just stick with it and see how it goes? Maybe I'll just go along with it until October when the library job shows up.

I'm gonna go play SSX3 now.
