First it was Chris Carter - he took my X Files and destroyed it to the point that I can't even put my season 1 DVDs on without getting infurated with what the show became. Lucas has been trying my patience since Episode I, but it seems that soon that same feeling of disgust will come over me. Soon being September, the release of the "classic" star wars trilogy on DVD.
Now, these could all be rumors, and if they are, then okay, fine. I've only scene a few scattered posts and links, nothing official. But if September comes and suddenly Hayden Christiensen is showing up in the OT, I will probably be unable ot watch them ever again. TPM and AOTC were such crap, yet for some reason no one at Lucasfilm seems to notice this. WHY!? Natalie is pretty, Hayden is pretty, but the stories are shite. The original trilogy was about faith in yourself and not depending on technology to save you. Yet here we are watching Lucas fiddle with CG and destroying the original films, as though he NEEDS to lower them to the level of the prequels so it will flow better. My GOD I"M GETTING SO ANGRY! Why can't people leave well enough alone? I know the whole "I didn't have the technology or the money back then" and let me say George, if you had had the money back in 1977, from what you've shown us, Star Wars would have SUCKED.
*ugh* I feel naseaus. Quit fiddlin with Star Wars. Move On man. LIVE IN THE NOW! Give me my old movies and leave them alone! It's like when technicolor decided they should colorize all the old movies. They looked horrid, they were made in black and white, the film makers were trained how to use black and white film. To color them would be to demean their work. I mean, fine go ahead and fix the lighsabers in New Hope because they look a little funky during the obi/darth duel, but for god sakes, let Han shoot first, and leave Jabba out of it. If people want Jabba, they can listen to the radio drama, the entire scene was better on their anyway.
okay, I have to go calm down. I'm just so pissed. I'm going to Celebration III, because I love my original trilogy. And if they screw it up, I'm going to kick employees of Lucasfilm all weekend. Then I'm going to buy a DVD burner, transfer my OT VHS tapes to DVD. Then cry.
