Not that I ever had that attachment (not part of my childhood), but I can understand it. When anything is possible, it hurts to see it tied down and tethered to a specific future.
That said, I love how they handle it, and was nodding along to this.
the reason the prequel trilogy faltered so much was that it tried to pull from Star Wars, which wasn’t enough to sustain the story. It ought to have supplied a foundation to what came after, yet somehow failed. It's very strange how it failed so very badly. :(
