severe weather alert
Jan. 22nd, 2005 01:55 amWell, looks like our first big snow storm will hit tomorrow morning. 100% chance at weather.com - we're getting the motherload around 3-5pm. So I guess it will be a weekend of video games and icon making. I don't mind so much, but it would have been more fun if it had done this on a monday night so I could not have to babysit tuesday hehe. Ah well. I'm just going to cuddle up with some DVDs and enjoy.
AD & I played Halo 2 online with
zaubervz, who is insanely good. He just makes us look so bad. I had a rough time with one map that had everyone in camo. But then we ended up in a map that was all shotguns. :) I love shotguns. Actually, I really love whackin' people, but shotguns come a close second. I actually got 3 kills in a row. And I actually killed more people in that game than any of the other maps. Good times. *hugs imaginary shotgun*
Oh, and speaking of little victories - Alex bought Skylor the Star Wars DVDs hehe. Apparently, it's all Sky talks about now. So, yay. Got those kids a little pop culture in their lives. Snowden doesn't know who any of the humans are - but she knows who Darth Vader is. There is something insanely cute about a 2 year old saying "Darf Vader!" and pointing a finger at his black figure.
I took over "Wizard of Oz" today on DVD, because I didnt' really feel like doing much of anything. So we watched that, which they had also never seen. Monica said it scared her as a kid, so they just never had it. Library did though, so I checked it out and they seemed to enjoy it. I hadn't seen it in ages, so I had fun watching, though I have to ask, what exactly is the moral at the end? Glinda asks Dorothy if she's learned anything, and Dorothy says something to the affect that "If I ever feel the need to go searching for my hearts desire and I have to look further than my own back yard, I shouldn't bother because I never really lost it anyway?" It didn't make any sense to me. but otherwise still very amusing. The Wicked Witch is one of the best bad guys of all time.
And speaking of the witch, I'm going to go read about her then fall asleep, probably wake up to a snow covered Maryland. Toodles!
