dancing queen.....
Dec. 17th, 2002 01:12 amno wait, I thought it was ABBA's "Dancing queen" but it turns out Shania Twain just ripped them off on her new album with a track called "C'est La Vie". Go listen to it and tell me what you think. I can't believe she hasn't been sued down to her canadian boots yet.
I stole a copy of UP! from the radio station today. Has to be brilliant marketing but a stupid idea to have the 2 CD set of the same tunes twice. I think it would work better if this actually had some thought put into it. But the thing is, Shania only put down one vocal track, and all that they did was produce more "country" sounding backing for one CD and more "pop" for the other. "Country" = a banjo. That's it. One freakin' banjo. The songs are okay, but I don't see very much diversity, and I think she rips herself off with the new single, which sounds like a remake of "That Don't Impress Me Much".
Blah, and it's the top selling album for any female artist right now. This album. No wonder women can't get any respect in the music industry. I mean, this could have been so much better if they had put some time into it.
On the plus, "Shes Not Just A Pretty Face" is catchy and just begging for a cool video.
Ah well I need to get some sleep. 2 jobs is one too many. But extra cash would be nice, and radio experience is hard to come by.
