3 fantasic films
Apr. 26th, 2004 11:35 pmin 3 days.
That's probably not good, now I'll be spoiled and expect every movie to be good. hehe.
I watched E.T. Saturday, Jurassic Park on Sunday, and Sixth Sense tonight on ABC. They just stand up so well to time, even the effect in Jurassic Park (except the raptor feet, those always looked like crap to me). Sixth Sense was even on commercial TV and not widescreened and I still couldn't tear myself away. (plus that trailer for his new movie, "The Village" ran near the end).
How do they do it! How do these writers create such fantastic yet down to earth stories? I mean, a story about an alien, a dinosaur, or ghosts, just hearing that makes it sound lame but those 3 movies are AWESOME! They make me laugh, cry, and get sooooo damn jealous that people write those stories and my brain is stuck.
Adrian says I need to start brainstorming/writing for an hour a day, about anything, just to get my brain working. He's right. It's just hard for me to think outside the box. My brain freaks out and wants me to brainstorm entire stories, but all I really should be brainstorming are ideas! I brought home my "how to write fiction" and "how to write screenplays" books with me, but I need ideas before those are any good.
blah.
The need to update The Village website. It says the new trailer is available at 11pm on 4/26....it's past 11:30 now, and still no trailer. The preview clip is not the same thing they ran on TV, I want to see it again! Just fascinating, how does he do it!
btw, the red headed female lead - that's Ron Howard's daughter. and the voice over is William Hurt (drove me crazy when I heard it on TV cuz he sounds so much like Donald Sutherland and Jeff Bridges that I couldn't figure out who it was).
Okay, I'm going to go try and brainstorm....then I'll probably go sulk....
