you don't have to put on the red light
Jul. 10th, 2004 04:08 pmSting and Annie Lennox should tour together more often. The show last night was FANTASTIC! The only bad thing was this really LOUD and annoying spanish guy behind me. I think he actually was from Spain too, because he kept shouting "OTRA OTRA" and chanting something in spanish between encores. I yelled at him at the start of the Sting set because he had been so loud during Annie Lennox. I thought maybe he was just an Annie fan so it would stop with Sting....but when he started singing really loud over "Seven Days" one of my favorite songs on "Summoner's Tales" I cracked, turned around and told him to SING SOFTER OR LIP SYNC OR SHUT UP!. and he did. I heard him singing a few other times but he wasn't as loud and obnoxious as before. too bad I didn't get the guts to do it during Annie Lennox.
Anyhoo, great great show. Annie really rocks. She's got her own little Mick Jagger-esque strut she does on stage that what so much fun to watch. She worked the crowd and loved every minute. I think some of her energy rubbed off on Sting too because he was a lot more animated then what we saw him on the "Brand New Day" tour. I think he likes the songs on Sacred Love alot more too.
The only really weird bit was the visuals that went alont with Stings show. Either he had no idea what was going on behind him, or he's a very dirty old man! Scantily clad women dancing (and not very well) to his songs. One girl was topless with little inca-looking designs painted on her nipples! And this was during "footsteps" a mellow songs that has nothing to do with being naked....or hula hooping, what was UP with that?
But besides all that, it was a lot of fun. Took 3 hours to get there with all the stupid traffic, but it was worth the wait. Came home and watched a good portion of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", but fell asleep before the infamous "alligator" scene...guess I shall have to rent it. Did cause me to have a strange dream about Johnny Depp though....
Adrian made a ton of Chex mix, and now he's making waffles with his new waffle iron I bought him for his birthday. Then we're going to Washington to have dinner with his parents. Yum, free food...and desert. A desert so yummy, that I can't even SPELL IT! (it's french, "prafitta rolls" is the phonetic spelling)
Anyhoo, I'm gonna eat a waffle now!
