let's go fly a kite!

So, went to Snowden's birthday party this afternoon. Twas fun, though as usual I ended up hanging out with the kids more than the grown ups. The adults are all really alex and monicas friends, so they want to talk to each other and catch up, so I just gravitate towards the kids because they don't know me and they don't mind talking at me.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to give Snowden, so I went ahead and wrapped the My Little Pony and the clothes Monica gave me to regift. I decided I'd save Darth and Luke for Valentines day but I wasn't sure if I was actually babysitting tomorrow, so I just popped the two toys in my backpack and left them in the car during the party. Everyone left about the same time though, since everyone had little kids to take home. So at about 6pm, it's down to me and Monica's friend, and she's getting ready to leave and Monica has decided that i'll just come on Wednesday since the grandma is there to help with the kids. So I go out to my car like I'm leaving, then run back inside and tell Sky and Snowden to close their eyes for their Valentines presents. Skylor, little cutie, he knew he couldn't do it without peeking, so like when we play Hide&Seek, he smashed his face into one of the pillows on the couch to keep from looking. And since Snowden is Snowden, she followed him over and did the same, so I was able to sneak the toys out and lay them next to them, they say "OPEN YOUR EYES!". They seemed quite happy. Sky had been talking about Star Wars toys forever, and Snowden knew Darth Vader so she was happy with him. So I left and they were super happy. So I think that went well.

As a bonus, Alex got me a copy of "Mary Poppins" the new 40th anniversary edition on DVD and a copy of Joss Stone's live show. Kinda cool. Who knew I would get a goodie bag, at my age!
