movie thoughts
Jan. 13th, 2008 11:40 pmWatched two very different but very good movies this weekend. And both were had an underlying weirdness to them that made them stand out.
3:10 to Yuma - What a film! I can see why the critics raved about it but then zipped their lips. It takes place in cowboy times, but it's really not a "Western" in the classical definition. In fact, if I had to compare it to another movie, I would say Silence of the Lambs because Russell Crowe's character was very Hannibal-esque.
Eagle vs Shark - Did you enjoy Napoleon Dynamite? Do you like awkward people in awkward situations? Then you'll enjoy this odd little comedy from New Zealand, starring Jemaine ("Flight of the Conchords") Clement.
