Okay, I am feeling MUCH much better today. Not quite 100% but definitely more normal than I have the past week. So now I must catch you all up on my recent adventures: Ironman (x2), Florida, Battlestar, Hamlet, Red Hair, and Kitties!

But first, I gotta do this teensy weensy bit of homework that I haven't done due to the above mentioned sickness. But soon! So I shall apologize in advance for spamming your flist!

So, a little over a week ago (May 14-18) AD and I were in Florida visiting his parents. They moved down there a little less than a year ago when Doc got a new job, and we had yet to visit! On top of that, they have Ad's baby kitty, Nala and a new cat named Puck. We had to meet these new family members and check out their new abode.

Anyhoo, AD posted the pictures on Facebook so I shall just link them here for your enjoyment/mocking etc -- PICTURES!

Saturday we recovered from Friday by waking up extremely late, and then going to see Ironman at their local theater, which happens to be the same as our local theater - Muvico. Just as good the second time. I will buy that movie on DVD.

Good times. I didn't get this stupid cold until Sunday night. I'm sure there was some kid on the plane with the sniffles.

Of course I saw Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on Wednesday night at midnight, like the good little fangirl I am. I still had my cold, but I was determined to experience a midnight showing. I didn't go to the Senator, just the local theater, which I sort of regret, sort of don't (mostly because the 15 minute drive home afterwards at 2am was much better than the usual hour ride).

Anyhoo, I enjoyed the movie. As [livejournal.com profile] snarkel said, it wasn't on par with Crusade or Raiders but I think we all knew that would be so, but it wasn't bad. It was a fun summer movie. Yeah, the story sort of disappears about half-way through and it just turns into a never-ending action sequence until the credits roll, but what did you expect would happen when Lucas and Speilberg got together for what may be the last time? They always talk about brainstorming Raiders by saying "You know what I've always wanted to see?" "Yeah, let's do that!". That was how this film felt - like a lot of fun was being had by cast and crew and the audience can either go with it or be left behind.

Shia LeBeouf will suffer the same fate as Brandon Routh: in the context of their movies (Indy, Superman) they are hot. When not in character, I could take them or leave them.

I want to see it again when I'm 100% healthy and I can buy a big bag of popcorn (You know how sick I was? I didn't finish a medium bag! The movie was 2 hours long!)

and now for the spoilery comments )

In other news, we put in an application to the SPCA today to try to get some kitties. Hopefully we will hear from them sometime next week. We went down there and looked at the adorableness. AD really wants a Maine Coon but I'll just take something cute and furry. They had both. Tomorrow we will get our hopes up and clean the apartment, and then if the application gets turned down, we will trash the place try again.
