Sorta watching the pilot episode of Beauty and the Beast reboot on CW. It really has nothing in common with the original. And the Beast? Looks like this is more a rip-off of Teen Wolf than a remake of the classic Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman show from the 90s. My mom loved that show, used to watch it with her every now and then. And the big obstacle between Catherine and Vincent was that he looked like a FREAKIN' LION! ALL. THE. TIME!

I like Kristen Kreuk, I think she's very pretty, but I'm not sure it's enough to get me through this show. Not even sure if I can finish this pilot. Ugh.

Yeah, no, this is stupid. If he's not the beast the whole time, there's no point in me wasting my time with this when I've got Teen Wolf to catch up on.

I did make it through the pilot of Arrow which has me intrigued. At first I thought it was just going to be a Batman rip-off, but Queen is MUCH darker. He has not issues with causing pain or flat out killing people. I want to see how they handle making him likeable - or if they even can. Vengeance can be seductive BUT it has a price. Batman never killed people and it allowed him to be dark and broody but still likeable because you know he never stoops to the level of murder. But that seems to be Arrow's whole plan. So I will watch a few more episodes and see where it is all going. Anti-heroes don't play well with me...

Have NOT watched American Horror Story: Asylum yet so NO SPOILERS! I think we're going to watch it Sunday. I'm going to make [livejournal.com profile] maybedeadcat watch with me so 1) I have somewhere to hide when it gets scary and 2) so I have someone to flail with immediately when it gets crazy.

Still very happy with Grimm. Catching up now on last week's episode. Tease in the intro was cruel.

Need to watch Once Upon a Time next. Also very happy with that.

Not going to watch Walking Dead. Just not going to happen after the aggravating debacle that was last season.

DramaDrama by Raina Telgemeier

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What I love about Telgemeier's SMILE and DRAMA is that they are stories about a girl - not a girl and a boy (though boys are involved, since we do tend to cross paths with them as we grow up) but a girl, living her life. And, in the end, she learns something about herself. They are about friendship; they are about growing up.

DRAMA is the story of Callie going through a production with her school's drama club as they mount an ambitious musical. She recruits two new members for the club, making friends with two new students, all the while navigating the ins-and-outs with her old friends and classmates.

If you liked SMILE, I think you will enjoy DRAMA. The story skews slightly older than SMILE, in my opinion, but it still ends with a very positive message for the reader.
