tv thoughts: Westworld s2 // Rick and Morty s3

I was never a superfan of Westworld when we watched it last year, spent most of the episodes slightly annoyed by how smug and clever it wanted to be but it wasn't because we've all seen shows about A.I. advancing and the debate about what is life.

We've stared watching season 2 now and it isn't much better. I find myself bored during most of the episodes, no surprises really. And I don't like ANYONE on the show. I'd be fine if they just nuked the island right now. It's the only way to be sure.

BUT what has made it oddly enjoyable is that we binge watched the last half of Rick and Morty season 3 because it was finally on Hulu. And there are some odd overlaps with stories about questioning reality and memory and what not that have made Westworld even harder to take seriously. For example, we watched an episode of R&M where Morty finds out that Rick has been erasing certain memories to keep him happy and/or sane or just so he doesn't remember Rick screwing up. Then we went to watch Westworld and the episode was full of flashbacks for the main "host" Dolores and her previous existence compared to now and I just had to giggle.

Did anyone else bother with the second season of Westworld?
