the librarian wants a toy library

Babysat today and took the kiddos swimming. Monica left to go run some errands so it was just me and the short people, and we were running low on sunscreen. So I gave them the bulk of it then attempted to rub what was left over my exposed areas. Apparently it wasn't enough. I'm pink. But not super pink. There's no pain, so that's good. I'm just hoping Skylor and Snowden are not burnt. Felt good to splash around. If the library doesn't call me, I'm going to go back on Friday for another round hehe. I might go to Target and get myself a Jedi towel to mark the occasion.

Managed to find the next wave of BK toys at the Annapolis Burger King, which I'd never been to. They were not happy employees, lots of debate about whether they should just sell me the toys, give me the toys, yadda yadda. I just kept smiling and saying thank you, in case I have to go back for more next week. So now I only have 5 toys left. Wow. The little marching clone trooper is pretty adorable. As is the Wompa.

We watched "The Spanish Prisoner" today. That was a crazy brainbender. Just kept going and going. It was good but really, how many people were involved in the bloody thing??? By the time they split whatever money they thought they were going to have, it couldn't have amounted to much. It wasn't like Oceans 11, this would have been like Oceans 37. *shrugs* It was interesting though. Now we're going to send it back and get...oh yeah, jimithingy wants "Meet The Fockers", guess we'll try that one. Barbara Streisand scares me though. Meh, whatever. We can do something totally ridiculous like that, then I can get "Kinsey" after that. Or "Series of Unfortunate Events". or "National Treasure".

I just played an insane amount of Sims 2. Instead of moving my graduates into new houses, I'm just moving them back in with their families now. It's working out pretty well. Johnny Smith died of natural causes, but Hamlet has moved in with his wife, so that's 4 people to control (soon 5 when she pops out her kid). The Curious family is out of control, with Vicund, Margaret (she's preggers), Lazlo, Genesis, Kat, and Luminara. And I'm thinking Luminara may invite her fiance Zaphod to move in. That or Zaphod is going to move back in with his folks and invite her over. Not sure yet.

Oh, and in real life news - Anne Bancroft died. I had no idea! Apparently she passed on Monday? Wonder how Mel Brooks is doing? We just saw the "Curb your Enthusiasm" the other night with both of them guest starring. Weird.

Okay, remember how I said my sunburn wasn't hurting? Apparently my shoulders heard me. I gotta go find some lotion...ciao!

Yes, I say go and get the Jedi towel to help comfort your pains, but be ready to share it with the younglings. ;) (I don't think I even let G see my Anakin blankie.) *laughs*

Heh, I want the Wampa, too, but like your BK, my local one is employed with some not-so-patient workers. o.O I fear going back and asking for a specific toy, even though I always bought a meal when I did so. I already gave up on finding the Vader one. :(

I didn't know Bancroft died... where the heck have I been? o.O

I hope your sunburn doesn't get any worse. :) (Where's a Crispykin icon when I need one?) ;D

I should know better. I really should. I've been cooked several times. I just always forget to re-apply! I put the sunscreen on, then I hop into the pool, swim under water, then end up with the top half of my body exposed while I splash around with Sky and Snowden.

It doesn't really hurt too much right now, my arms have faded back to tan, though my shoulders are still pretty pink.

yeah, now I'm thinking if I get the Jedi towel, they might try to snag it from me haha. Of course, they can't read so they might not know it's the Jedi symbol...hm....

I told people on my Star Wars list that I found new toys and they asked me to go back and get a few to trade with them...so now I do have to go back. Hopefully the same people will be there.

Yeah, I didn't know Anne Bancroft died either, they posted "The Graduate" to thedailymovie and said it was because she passed away and I was like "whaaa??".

I'm an idiot when it comes to the sun.

Well, not an idiot. Just a little too brave.

Basically, I don't apply sunblock unless it's completely psycho not to. See, I want to develop a tan-slash-resistance-to-the-sun because I'm really tired of being a blonde, blue-eyed, sunburnt guy.

So I put up with minor irritation in the hopes that it won't be so bad next time.

Yeah, I had this whole resistance thing, where I decided I wanted to get a tan so I wouldn't put enough sun block on...then I got cooked, cooked like Anakin Skywalker on the shores of Mustafar. And then I got lectured by pretty much everyone I know while I suffered. So now I have to put sunblock on or AD makes faces at me.

I broke down and bought towels for the younglings. I asked the mom first and she paid me back for them. They were on sale for $10 so yay! They loved them too! haha. Thought the whole "backpack" thing was amazing!
