AD called the internet people. They said that they couldn't send anyone out until next tuesday. So there is a possibility we will be internet-less for a whole week. Which sucks. I actually made my website look pretty yesterday by adding little tables as backgrounds. It made the star wars icon page very nice. Sadly, I can't upload it. Grrrrr.

Also, what's the difference between a "rash" and a "severe rash". It seems all of a sudden I'm having a reaction to the antibiotics that the doctor gave me last week. I only have 3 pills left, but suddenly I have little red marks all over me. I didn't really notice until after I took a shower today. Then I went to use the restroom at work, and I looked in the mirror and they were all over my neck. I'd rather just finish the medication and be done with it, but I don't want to die on a holiday weekend. Would just be a pain in the butt with my insurance, ya know?

So, lack of internet means I'm back on the Sims. Played my two main families last night. The Curious family, I've decided, has far too many people in it. We have -- Lazlo & Genesis and their teen daughter Kat, child son Kit, and toddler Bane. Then we have Margaret and her teen daughter Devon. That's 7 people in one house (in the "Helluva Hacienda" in strangetown). And Vicund's ghost is floating around and causing trouble, scaring poor Kit to death...well, not to death, but she has wet herself a couple times because Vicund decided to jump out of a wall! I need to prep Kat and Devon for college, neither of them have the skill level that I would like them to have. They have A+ report cards so they got that scholarship, but I'd like to get them at least one other scholarship.

The other family I played was the Prefects and my lesbian couple, Kay & Prof Gina (I can't remember their last names!). Luminara is 3 days from her old age birthday, and she says she still wants a baby. So I spent the whole time trying to get her aspiration meter up, so she could drink the elixir of life and become young enough to concieve another child. Which she really doesn't need to do because she already has two kids - teen Bariss and toddler Marvin. Plus Kay and Prof Gina have an adopted son (Victor) and they called the agency yesterday to adopt a second child. Another crowded house. But Bariss will probably move to college soon so whatever. I'll let Luminara have one more baby if I can. She's Captain Hero in her job, so she doesn't work that much.

I want to make a little Strangers in Paradise household but I think I might wait and do it in the college town. So, if I make Francine, Katchoo, and David...what aspiration goal should they be? There's Knowledge, Popularity, Wealth, Romance, and Family. Decisions decisions.

So yes, we have no internet at home. So if you don't hear from me in a week, I'm not dead in a ditch. I'm playing Sims 2...alot. And updating my website in the hopes that soon I will be able to actually upload it! I do work Weds and Friday of next week, so expect all my replies then, k? And I'm here at the library for another two hours today, so I'll try to get to anyone I've missed.

Okay, here are the aspirations of all the major SIP characters, from someone who is now having trouble believing he hasn't actually met them...

...yes, it's an addictive comic, and if you have the opportunity, don't stop reading it.

For an SIP house to work, you have to have a lot of disruptions.

The aspirations of the three main characters are romance and family (can they have two of them? I've never played the game.) But Katchoo loves Francine, and David loves Katchoo. But they can't ever really get together.

Francine's dream has always been to marry and have kids, but since she can't do that with the woman she loves, she's torn.

I think Francine wants a family, and David and Katchoo want romance. But there are a lot of heartbreaks.

But, in your fantasy world, if you could make them a happy romantic threesome family, I think they'd all be happy getting their freak on like that. Or, at least, I'd be happy seeing them get their freak on, because it would work much nicer than the 76 issues I've just read, wherein nothing gets resolved, and things get kinda weird.

I've just finished David's Story, and I don't want to stop, but I don't know if I can find a copy of Tomorrow Now anywhere. But maybe I can find the individual issues. They're only about year old, so....

I'm hoping i can find them all thru the library, otherwise I'm gonna have to buy them. They are so good! A different kind of story but I love it! Thank you SO much for telling me about it!

Hm...yeah, I think I'd like them to be happy Sims, but I was gonna have them live together and then see which Sims hit it off the most. I have to set their personality points too...that will be tricky. I don't know if I want David and Katchoo to have the romance aspiration as the stupid game usually just makes them sex-obsessed...but making Katchoo "popularity" seems wrong as well. I shall have to think on it.

*sigh* 15 minutes then I'm off of work...and away from the internet :-(

That totally bites about your internet. What a pain in the butt! *grumbles* At least you can still play along via the library. :D

Hey, did you ever catch that show 'Video Mods' on MTV2 that featured the RotS game characters in a music video for Franz Ferdinand's 'Take Me Out'? It was too fun!

Katchoo is definitely not into popularity. She was an outcast in high school, and refuses to wear dresses, or do anything to get people to like her.

Can you make gay characters? Because if you can, making Francie and Katchoo crazy mad sex-crazed lovers would be a good thing. They need to end up together.

And you're welcome for the recommendation. It's a comic I really enjoy, as you might have noticed. ;-)

If you want to buy them, I'd recommend going to a comic store, and ordering the pocket books. They're 18 bucks (US) each, and they're 16, 17, 18, and 19 issues, respectively.

So, for 72 bucks, you get 70 whole issues, printed slightly smaller, but I've never had a problem with that.

There are a few issues that were not reprinted in the pocket books. Vol 3. issues 25, 39, 46, as well as Vol 2., issue 14, were not included, because they're basically stand-alone stories. The most recent set of these was just printed as "Molly and Poo," and chronicles an odd character who isn't part of the main story, but gets mentioned in one issue as having killed her husband with an axe. I haven't read these, but I do own them. Well, except for vol 2, issue 14, which is really hard to get ahold of.

Issue 25, I don't know about, but it's called "Bikini Beach." Issue 39, "You're a Loser, Freddie Femur," is an exploration of Freddie's self-esteem issues, told in various comic strip styles. I just bought a copy at my local store, so you might be able to find one of these in a back issue.
