sw_challenge is dying for entries this week! I put up some scans from my Galactic Heroes toys and we only have two entries. :( Just crop and post, at this rate your odds of winning something are pretty good.
We had a little impromptu gathering yesterday to helpblu_harvest deal with the crazyness of his life right now. I think it went rather well. Lots of chatting and goofiness and just enough alcohol. Have I mentioned how awesome my friends are recently? I love the fact that any 3 of them can come together at any moment and we always manage to have a good time. Sometimes that wouldn't work, ya know, you end up making groups of friends that can only hang out in their groups, but somehow my people have all managed to mingle very well. This is good. I hope that blu_harvest left our apartment feeling like he could survive his weekend.
I also have to say thatjimithingy roxors for not only letting me get away with stuff like this (inviting unknown number of people over at the last minute) but also being the best at playing host by making us snacks and food and drinks and going out to get pizza at 10pm. He is awesome. *huggles*
jimithingy downloaded a copy of Advent Children for blu_harvest last night. We ended up watching about an hours worth before bedtime. I have never played more than 20 minutes of a final fantasy game, unless you could Kingdom Hearts, so I wasn't super familiar with the characters but I recognized a lot of them. I have to agree with everything I've heard about this movie - it's very pretty, but wtf is going on. Granted, the subtitles could have been a bit better, there were lots of little errors and sentences that could have been simplified. The movie is hypnotic though. I had no intention of watching it really, but the animation is so beautiful that I just sat there staring. I'd watch Anime if all Anime was CG. I almost wish I could see it on the big screen for the full effect.
I went to bed worried I was going to have crazy dreams about slightly effeminate japanese men chasing me around with big swords, but instead, I had a dream where I was trying to explain the movie to random people. Then, halfway thru my dream, I found out i was late for class (??) and had to find the classroom, based on these tiny handwritten notes I had in my pocket. The weird part was I had already been to this class once before, in a dream earlier this week. For some reason the directions take my thru the Key School playground (Skylor's school, the little boy I used to babysit for). The first dream, school was in session so I was able to sneak thru but in last nights dream, it was recess and Skylor was playing outside and he saw me and started following me and I was scared people would think I had kidnapped him so I tried to make go back to school while trying to get to my class on time. The next bit of directions I had was, and I quote, "go past the surprisingly real alligator", and then it was in this weird hallway with wooden rooms. And then the classroom itself was like from colonial days with wooden desks and chairs and firelight...but they also had a TV! And they were running some random firefly outtakes thing, which made no sense to no one who had seen the show before but I thought it was funny.
whitemartyr has dreams with secret messages about life and the universe - i have dreams with alligators and williamsburg-esque classrooms.
