And that's okay, I love my birthday - especially when I somehow manage to stretch it out for over a month!

Yesterday we met up with [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's parents in DC. We hadn't seen them for awhile, they went to London for a little vacation, right around the time of my birthday. So yesterday was my very merry unbirthday! Not only was I treated to a play, we also had a yummy lunch and a scrumcious dinner!

And presents! I think all of my fandoms were represented yesterday:

Veronica Mars soundtrack
Erin McKeown - We Will Become Like Birds
Star Wars Ultimate Visual Guide
Serenity Those Left Behind trade
TV Classics : Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Beatles poster from the Beatles store in London!
Beatles magnets, booksmarks, and patch from London!
Eddie Izzard autograph (on Doc's hankerhief!)
Spudtrooper!
comfy shoes (well, I'll be getting those later as they didn't quite fit right...but AD has a similar pair and says they are the comfiest things ever)
Civilization IV (yes, Ghandi, you better watch your back! Queen Orangerful is in town!)

Then we went to Georgetown to the comic shop that had my Serenity cards. Doc got in there and bought my cards for me! But since I had sort of decided to spend money anything, I bought a Wesley and Angel action figure for 40% off and the next three trades in my Transmetropolitan collection.

I opened my cards but I haven't sorted them yet. I can tell you DID get an autographed card with Summer Glau's (River's) autograph. So cool.

Not to mention that on Friday when we were shopping for [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's mom's birthday present (her birthday was actually yesterday as opposed to my poser self), I used up my Border's gift card and bought myself a copy of 'I am the Messenger' (so I can lend it to people to read) and 'The Book Thief' (so I don't have to wait for it to come in).

All in all, I made out like a bandit yet again! Now we're gonna go over to my parents for Easter dinner and general hanging-out-ness. Good times. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Ghandi was picking on me!

actually, last night it was Montezuma and Isabella...i hate that biotch.

Yeah, we had CivIII and it ate our lives last year for a good amount of time. Like, we lost entire days to that game. AD read reviews that CivIV was supposed to have some faster play modes which is why he suggested it. And it does! So that's nice.

Takes me awhile to get beyond the "click the flashing button...hehe, Spock said something" point to actually understanding and getting a strategy...but I will have one soon.
