kids say the darndest things!

orangerfulSo, I had to give my first solo full library tour today. Class of 14 preschoolers. I was nervous (duh) but I think I did alright. There were a bunch of little things I forgot to mention (only 5 dvds, they only go out for 3 days, yadda yadda) but otherwise it went off without a hitch. I read two stories outloud that I had only glanced at the day before. I think I read them out of order - did the short one first and the long one last, not the best plan ever haha. I have another tour tomorrow afternoon so I'll get to apply everything I've learned so that's good!
The cutest thing though - one of the stories, called "Book! Book! Book!", is about the farm animals going to the library after they are left alone. Each animal goes into the library to ask for a book, but of course the librarian doesn't understand what the animals are saying. For example - the horse walks in and asks for a book, but all the librarian hears is "neigh neigh neigh". Well, after the horse, the kids got the idea, and without me even saying anything, they chimed in on the cow "MOO MOO MOO!". OMG so cute hahaha.
They were impressive listeners too. I'm horrible with names, but they all seemed to remember that I was "Miss Sam". They also all wanted Scooby-Doo books! haha. Luckily, we had a few in, so I think everyone left happy.
Luckily tomorrow I have 4 hours to relax in the morning before the tour in the afternoon, unlikes today where the tour was 45 minutes after I arrived. I usually take an hour or so to actually wake up haha. Of course, tomorrow's tour will also be after lunch so I have to control the caffienne and not talk at 100 mph. haha.
Okay, off to bed for me. This week has gone by WAY TOO FAST! And Saturday I'm interviewng people for the Volunteen positions, which is also like "eep!" but I'm sure once I do a couple I'll get the hang of being "in charge". But now, SLEEP!
