you, stop making movies. You, make more!
Jul. 2nd, 2006 11:31 pmAccording to one of the Entertainment Weekly's I was just flipping thru, both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have said they will make a second X Files movie. I went to IMDB to see if such a movie was listed, and it's not. I'm hoping that it's just that they said they would if asked, and not that it was actually going to happen. Because it shouldn't. It's too late...*sigh* and just when the pain was finally starting to go away too.
Our internetz has been crazy all week, and today it was off and on.
jimithingy called Millenium and they are sending someone out on Wednesday, so if I'm sort of quiet this week, that's why. Of course with all this downtime, I've been making superman icons, I've got 7 done so far, but a few more on the way, I'll probably post them tomorrow!
I'm on a Bryan Singer kick now, mostly because of Superman Returns, so I watched our recently liberated copy of "The Usual Suspects" (
jimithingy's brother "borrowed" it from him over 3 years ago) with Bryan Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie's commentary. Good stuff, Singer definately enjoys talking about the process of making films and so far I've enjoyed all of his commenatries. Though he obviously needs someone in the room to give him ideas for things to talk about. He kept mentioning his student film "Public Access" so I added that to my netflix list, even though the reviews are not that great. But, I mean, Kevin Spacey said he saw the movie and wanted to work with Singer, so there must be something good about it! I'm going to pass on 'Apt Pupil' though, even if it does have Ian McKellan. I'm going to just focus on the ones that Singer was director and had some involvment in the writing.
'Usual Suspects' is still an awesome movie, btw. It's such a simple film really that it holds up to the test of time. Doesn't really involve any technology or things like that, so it doesn't feel dated. I always forget about Benicio Del Toro in that film, he was NOBODY then. Of course, Spacey was more of a random character actor and not the force he is now either. Mmmmm good movie.
Bryan Singer's IMDB lists a Superman Returns sequel set for 2009. In between he has a few other projects, most interesting to me would be the 'Logan's Run' remake. I haven't seen that movie but once and pretty much all I can remember about it (besides the spoiler) is that it looked sooooooo dated.
that's enough babbling out of me for a now, goodnight folks!
