Picked up the new Weird Al CD on my way home from work today. Had to pop it in the CD player right away and drive home blaring 'Polkarama' thru downtown Glen Burnie. So far, I've only been able to listen to the first 5 tracks, but I'm enjoying it. Always takes a few listens to catch all the jokes! I feel a bit out of it since a lot of the songs parodied on here are rap/r&b and that genre is pretty much off my radar. But it's still funny.

I need to burn a copy for my car as my CD player in there does not like the double-sidedness of the dual disc. It wants to munch on the DVD side, which would be bad (I had to whack it several times to make it give up the CD when I got home today!).

Yes, dual disc - one side is the album, the other has the "enhanced stereo mix", videos, and the karaoke option. The videos are little geek spasms of joy - of course, ~~'White & Nerdy" is on there~~ (WTF? Why isn't 'White and Nerdy on there??) and "Don't Download Thing Song" (though that video is just CREEPY!) but also "Weasel Stomping Day" made by Seth Green & Co. at Robot Chicken. And apparently one of the other video s is directed by someone from 'Ren & Stimpy'.

I need to listen to the rest of the album but

jimithingy isn't too fond of Mr. Yankovic so I'm thinking I might just burn the album and enjoy it on my ride in to work tomorrow and not force him to suffer thru it.

I hope Al goes on tour again. There's nothing up on his site but it might be too soon to tell. Maybe summer 2007? Who knows.
