So the first promo for 'Drive' has aired. The Exec Producer is Tim Minear (Angel, Firefly, Wonderfalls), it stars Nathan Fillion (Firefly/Serenity) and his wife is played by Amy Acker ("Fred" from Angel).

But the premise. wtf? I mean, I've heard weirder premises (teen girl slays vampires!) but I'm not so sure about this whole race thing.

Clearly, it's only built to last one season.

Still, it's nice to see Mal Nathan back on the screen. I'll DVR it and support him!

OMG NUH-UH! Fred is his wife in it?? I can't believe I missed her! I picked him out of the commercial for it right away and pointed him out to Linz. ("Oh look...Mal's in this...pity it will be cancelled.")

It looks ridiculous, but that makes me sad that Nathan AND Amy are back on TV in something shitty. :(

She was good in her appearance on Supernatural (First Season).

I was totally into it, until that obscene network logo showed up.

Really, what would be the point of watching the two or three episodes they air before they say, "The ratings aren't as high as Heroes and Survivor combined. Dump it."

hmm. Well it's Fox so... we can pretty much count on early cancellation anyway, right? :P

looks intriguing to me. kinda like reality TV mixed with fiction.

so this is like Amazing Race meets Lost right? That's the only way I can make any sense of it..

It could be ok if they don't fall back on the extended flashback thing. But you just know they're going to do that.

yeah, I'll definately check out a few episodes but I have my doubts. But I trust Nathan and Tim to pick good projects, so maybe it's just the way it's being advertised. Lord knows FOX's marketing people are on crack. Actually most TV shows with any real depth to them are usually poorly represented in their commercials (I mean, look at LOST. I thought it was just some reality show from the first few ads I saw, thank goodness there was a Hobbit in it so I tuned in from day 1!)

Hm...yes that does seem to be what they are going for. I just hope that any flashbacks they feel the need to have will be short and sweet. I know everyone who watches 'Lost' is pretty much sick of those now.

*crosses fingers* at least the first season of Lost was really good though! Maybe 'Drive' will be fun for a quick spin.

it's clear to me that they have no idea how to advertise the show. So I'm *hoping* that it's deeper than what we're seeing in the blurb and in the promo.

Poor Tim Minear, all of the shows they listed, crediting his name, were all cancelled before their time! and 3 of them cancelled by FOX!

Well, the DVD sales of Firefly and Wonderfall must have nice dollar signs next to them...perhaps they plan on cancelling 'Drive' before it even airs then rushing a DVD release...

Nope. You see, The Inside hasn't been released yet.
