i'm in ur iTunes, playin your songz
Mar. 13th, 2007 11:25 pmYet another beautiful day here in MD! Went to work with my sunroof open, iPod playing away happily. But I only had it on shuffle and I decided, you know what, I need a mix just for when I'm cruising with my top down. Because if it's nice enough that I have my top down, I want some fun songs, hip songs - songs that I can proudly sing along with when I'm stopped at a red light and everyone is staring.
Also, so I can avoid situations like today, when I turn into work and my iPod goes from "hip" Guster to the only David Cassidy song I know (Hey I Think I Love You) which can take your street cred down to zero in half a second.
So, suggestions?
I've already got:
Good Day Sunshine - Beatles
Everyday Should be a Holiday - Dandy Warhols
Rapunzel - Dave Matthews Band
Goodnight and Go - Imogean Heap
Jem - Wish I
Faders - No Sleep 2Nite
Death Cab for Cutie - Crooked Teeth
Jason Mraz - Too Much Food
I'm going to sort thru some of my CDs now for ideas, but I'd love to know your suggestions! The bigger the mix, the better! Nice thing about an iPod mix, you're not limited to that 80 minutes of CD space. And I don't mind more than one song by the same artist, as long as they are fun songs that would sound better in the sunshine. :D

Layla - Derek and the Dominoes
Your entire 2nd mix CD. :)
San Dimas High School Football Rules - The Ataris
Not Coming Home - Maroon 5
Yours to Keep - Teddybears
Oh, It is Love - Hellogoodbye
The Imperial March - John Williams
It's amazing how powerful you feel driving to The Imperial March... especially if you're passing a lot of people. haha.

Date: 2007-03-14 03:46 am (UTC)Layla is a good call, keep my classic rock street cred up, plus, if I can time it right so the solo starts up when I'm at a stoplight I could save people's eardrums from me singing

HA! I can imagine. Probably like how everything seems 10 times more important when you're doing it with the 'Superman' theme playing.
I know the names of the bands of the other songs, but not the songs themselves. See! This is why you need to start making mixes too ;)

Hey, it fits the theme! Although other B&S might be more driveable..
Try:
Lloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken - Camera Obscura
Very sweet and upbeat (despite the title)
I thought that David Cassidy was in the "so unhip he's hip" category? Now if it was Shaun, you'd be in trouble..
