It occurs to me now that I probably should have watched the "regular" edition of 'Superman II' before watching the 'Donner Cut'. I'm fairly certain I may have only see the original cut once...when I was little.

So pretty much I have NO idea what's different, except for the obvious "screen test" footage (Clark's hair is weird). There were a couple moments that I went "hm" so those were probably re-edits too.

I liked it though. My only complaint is that they should have dropped the last scene where Superman beats up the guy who beat up Clark (after he gave up his powers). That seemed sorta mean.

Okay, now to read the Wikipedia entries on Superman II and try to figure out what was different...

EDIT: holy crap, that WAS really different! Reading the plot for the "original" Superman II, the Donner Cut is so VERY different. Though it seems like it would have been wiser to integrate the two films instead of making two separate creatures. I think it could have been a much stronger movie with a bit of this and a bit of that. If you've seen the regular version recently, I suggest picking up the "recut" - like the original it has it's flaws, but it sounds like it might be the better movie...
