London Calling...

So,here I sit in an internet cafe off Knightsbridge with a computer thathas more bugs than a rainforest, a keyboard whose "a" and "s" keys haveto be pressed with more gusto than is available from the Italianrestaurant I just ate in, and a space bar that has less spring than myhometown in Canada. That's right, I'm in London. The super secretthingy gets done tomorrow, to be shown I don't know when. That's allyou're gonna get, except this: If you see a handsome roguish type offellow walking down the street in London who looks alot like thatawesome dude on DRIVE, be sure to say a calm, sweet hello. Chances arehe's lost, hungry, or looking for an internet cafe with a chair that'smore comfortable than the one that is reshaping my ass right now. I'moff to try and sleep off this jet lag.
And if you are waiting for meto get you to rally for DRIVE, you'll only have yourself to blame fornot doing something when you had the chance. Live without regret! PushDRIVE on your friends, family, and strangers.
Lates,
Nathan

I'm actually really excited about the new HP movie, too. Did you read that the last 20 minutes would be in 3-D in the IMAX version? Very cool.

hey, the trailer looks great- thanks!

This will be an interesting movie because most people agree that the book is the weakest in the series. So this may be the one time the director has an oportunity to make a movie which is better than the book.

I'm telling myself that this will be the last HP movie I see. I want the last 2 books to stay as books. We'll see if I actually follow thru with this.

I think Judy Dench should have played Umbridge!

oh dear, the Weasley twins look like they've been at Hogwarts a bit too long, like, 10 years too long:

Still not a fan of movie-Ginny either. I don't know what it is. I think she has old-lady lips. But Rupert Grint has gone from a funny looking kid to CUTE (imo), so maybe there's hope for Ginny.

lol, yeah, they were starting to look "older" in the last movie. Cutting their hair that short does not help.

I'm not a big fan of the movie-Ginny either. She's very plain. The Ginny in the book starts plain but grows into a teenager and she's hip and with it and you'd think she'd at least have some cheap lipstick to wear.

I remember struggling to finish book 5 so I hope the movie isn't as painful. I hope Harry isn't as whiny either. I'm very curious to see how they have condensed this one - I just hope they did a better job than with GoF, which I find unwatchable now, it's just so messy.

yeah, I agree about GoF- I was psyched after the first viewing (it's hard not to get caught up in opening night excitement- a packed theater full of people really into the movie makes a big difference). But on a second viewing the flaws really stood out. The quidditch world cup scene is an absolute mess. And there are other odd cuts and pacing issues. You'd think GoF might have been the easiest to turn into a film, the way it's centered around the challenges. But I came away from a second viewing thinking the only worthwhile scenes were the Yule Ball and the graveyard scene.

yeah, there's no chemistry between movie-Harry and movie-Ginny either, whereas there certainly is between Daniel and Emma (I mean, the scene in GoF with them on either side of the tent.. why do they have to torture us if it's not to be??). This does NOT of course help the case of anti Harry/Hermione shippers. (although, to be fair, I'm not getting the chemistry from the books either. In fact, I just realized that I can't remember if Harry and Ginny are officially together at this point. If there's a scene where they get together, it obviously made NO impression on me. That's sad.)
