i heart well written tv shows

I enjoyed 'Heroes' last night - even though my DVR quit about 5 minutes before the end! Stupid TV land - air your shows on time and stop confusing my DVR! But I figure everything turns out okay...otherwise it would have been the *last* episode and not one of 3 or 4...how many are left now? And yeah, they got me too.



I actually felt bad later when I realized that I just assumed Nathan had gone evil. I wonder when Sylar switched bodies with him. I knew something was wrong when Nathan hugged Claire. I don't know why, there was just...a vibe. Nikki/Peter was a surprise. And a little creepy. I'm really excited to find out how it all turns out - will they just follow their plan or can Hiro save the world?

'Veronica Mars' *finally* came back tonight! Not the best episode ever, but it had its moments. I blame the "mystery", which was really pretty lame. And sorta preachy. I mean, how many of the tolerance episodes have we seen? And why did it have to be a redneck? There are plenty of ignorant people who are not rednecks. Just some lazy writing there. Made me miss the big arcs, even if they were cheesy they had some suspense!

But I enjoyed the character stories going on in the background - Keith asserting himself, Wallace coaching Piz (oh wallace! how I missed you!), Mac actually smiling on a regular basis (though...didn't she have a boyfriend before we went on break? what happened there?) and Happy!Logan - i didn't know the writers knew how to do that! I really wish they would time stamp the episodes though! I'd like to know how much time has passed since the break - has it been 2 months for our heroes or just a week or two? Hm. The Piz kiss was nice, but now I'm worried since we know the actor has already signed on for that "Grey's Anatomy" spin off - their love is already doomed!! Then again, if they write this season as if it was the end, maybe they could have them just being happy. They don't have to be together forever, but a small amount of happiness for the two of them would be nice.



In other news - remember how I said I wasn't going to spend any money? Yeah, I think I lied. See...I just got an email from Time & Space Toys saying I could pre-order the BSG figures. And I sorta want to have a little Lee and Six to call me own. And...and I was thinking of pre-ordering the next wave of MiniMates. And for my in-stock purchase, picking up the first wave. So I get free shipping. And 2 free toys (Glory and a Minimate Cylon). I'm so bad....but they won't charge me for most of it until the toys ship, which won't be until Aug or Sept!

Oh, and speaking of BSG - I'm up to season 3! We watched the first episode on Sunday night. Good stuff. The show just continues to surprise me with it's writing.

omg they were way too busy delving into hard hitting issues to get on with a mystery this week it was kind of annoying! And played way to much on stereotypes on all sides. Your so right about the redneck it was like ugh come on. I'm glad to have the show back though

speaking of possibly well-written shows, I was reading People magazine while at the hair salon today (I always have to sneak my guilty pleasure reading in at places like hair salons, waiting rooms, or checkout lines..) and they had a positive review of Drive. Was Drive generally getting good reviews? Heard any more gossip about the cancelation?

As far as I know, yes all the reviews had been pretty positive. I read the blurb in Entertainment Weekly (we all have our guilty pleasures) and it gave it a thumbs up, and I know a few other sites did because it kept popping up on Whedonesque.

As far as I can tell, it's cancelled. :( They only got to shoot 6 episodes, so I'm thinking FOX had no intention of keeping the show.
