When I saw the trailer for 'Knocked Up', I was nervous. But after reading this review in 'Geek Monthly' it sounds like, just like '40 Year Old Virgin' before it, the funniest bits cannot be shown in the trailer because, while they have a lot of heart, the laughs might offend someone.

There's a video clip at the bottom of that review, a deleted scene, it's Not Safe For Work, but it is HILARIOUS. (so very very wrong, and not for the easily offended...but HILARIOUS)

A short note about the whole deletions thing - I'm upset that you guys are so upset. I've never been into fanfiction, but I think what is going on in LJ right now is just ridiculous. And the group that seems to be behind it all sounds very scary (don't go to their website, it gives you viruses! what kind of a group does that?) And because we all know that the biggest threat to the children right now was livejournal. It's just poor customer service. And a bit scary. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get in contact with SixApart so that my frustration actually reaches someone (I've heard rumors they are deleting emails and support tickets on this subject without response)

Word on the deletion hysteria. I did join that fandom_count community, but I think overall that the way folks are reenacting the panic scenes from Airplane is a little silly.

I have to say that clip was funny. And I agree with the sentiment. lolz =P

Okay, I'm glad you mentioned the LJ thing. I have been naive. I noticed that a bunch of my favorite... ehem... communities have disappeared recently, but not all of them yet. So, since there *is* a tendency for these things to move around or disappear and pop back up somewhere else, I hadn't immediately thought "conspiracy theory" yet, and I somehow missed the screaming about it so far. I'm noticing now though, since you've said something, and OMG. /hackles raised Wow, this has me mad. LJ is going to have a legion of pissed-off rabid fans freaking out about this. That's probably going to get ugly for them.

I think it's already pretty damn ugly. And it would be one thing if it was say, JK Rowling or Lucasfilm, but this random group that I've never heard of that sounds sketchy as hell throwing their non-existent weight around? Even Warren Ellis, who started out with a "I have an eleven year old daughter" post has not effectively shut down his entire LJ because he's seen too many well meaning comms disappear.

It's just sad. And pathetic.

what is the fandom_count comm? I saw someone link to it, but when I clicked through it was all blank, so I wasn't really sure what I was adding myself to. Made me a bit worried.

The panic scenes from Airplane but minus the full front shot that happens because THINK OF THE CHILDREN!

It's just to show exactly how big the fandom community on LJ is. I think that's a pretty good idea, generally.

Oh hell, let's just delete the children. That would solve things.

(because I can see this coming back to haunt me someday.. Hey world, I was KIDDING)

Deletions.

I had no idea what was going on until earlier today, and yeah, it's pretty much insane. That one particular group, which has no apparent ties to any law enforcement or child welfare agency, feels compelled to essentially accuse innocent people of pedophilia/encouraging illegal activity is frightening and utterly ridiculous.

Parents need to MONITOR their children's internet use. I know that I got myself into some trouble in my early interwebz days, and I realize now how lucky I am to be okay. People rely too much on others--teachers, their kids' peers, and technology--to raise their children instead of being decent parents.

ARGH. There's just so much wrong with this whole situation that I can't even think straight about it right now.
