Movie Thoughts : Knocked Up
Jun. 2nd, 2007 07:32 pmI really hope this writing/directing/acting bunch can stay together. They are such a great team.
--Paul Rudd in the hotel with the chairs lined up! When he curled up on that third chair, I was laughing so hard.
--Eric Bana Nurse. Okay, I just checked IMDB, and it was not him. But that still cracked me up.
--It's a comedy so I forgive the Hollywood ending. I'm really not sure if they would work as a couple for an extended period of time.
--Just thinking about it later, it's odd that no one even brought up the option of giving the child up for adoption. They mentioned abortion, but not adoption. *shrug* Just something i noticed, doesn't really matter since the whole point of the movie is she has the kid!
--The two stories where the guys go to Vegas and the girls try to go to a club was very...telling. It was one of those moments i had to remind myself this movie was written by a man. The guys go off and have a lot of fun, and it's so easy for them to get away. The girls attempt to go into a club that they were able to visit 8 months before, and are turned away because they looked "too old" and spent the night crying on a curb. Unfair. But true.
--the "crowning" scene was...surprising. Did not expect to see that. But it made the moment when the geek walked into the room all the more hilarious. In fact, the entire family of stoners in the hospital was so "LOL" worthy.
Realized on my way home that the last two movies I've seen in the theater were both about women with unwanted pregnancies. Whats up with that?
