Well, an interesting day to say the least!

[livejournal.com profile] heiland_coo and I had been planning a Baked Potato Lunch at work (an idea suggested by [livejournal.com profile] librariesrock awhile back). So I planned on getting to work around 12 (30 minutes earlier than usual) so I could partake in the yummyness. Of course, it starts to flurry around 11 and begins to snow like crazy as soon as I get on the road at 11:30. I get to work, we heat up the potatoes, and the phone rings and Headquarters calls to say that the libraries will be closing at 1pm! HUZZAH! So, I did not work today. I drove slowly home in the slushy flurry mess that was starting up.

I got home and did not know what to do with myself. I got a package from KOHLS of clothes I had ordered during their clearance sale last week. All but one of the outfits fit, so I'm very happy with that purchase. Just found out they opened a new KOHLS about 3 minutes from our apartment, so I'm going to return the top and check it out next week. Then I tried to figure out what to do with myself. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy suggested SSX Blur, which just came from Gamefly. I tried it but the learning curve was a bit too steep. While I crashed and fumbled, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy said I should play Karaoke Revolution instead. So then I sang songs for about 2 hours, all the while someone was slipping my beers...hm...? Then after those songs were all gone, both of us were buzzing. I wanted more songs. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy said we should walk to Wal-Mart and see if they had any new Karaoke games in stock. So, in the cold, wet, slushy, rainy weather we trudged across to Wal-Mart. My Uggs were soaked and the store had bupkiss! [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy said we should try Target, which is a bit further down the road. In our hazed daze, we went the extra mile (not even that far). Target had very little on their shelves apart from SingStar, which required you to purchase a special microphone set and had some crappy songs. Bah! I did not want that. But I wanted something to play!

Then [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy pointed out that he had Christmas cash left over in his wallet and OH LOOK here is ROCK BAND! He also pointed out that we could not carry that game back to the apartment in the sludge. So we walked all the way back to the apartment, changed pants and shoes and then drove to Target and bought ROCK BAND!

OMG SO FUN! [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy played drums, I was on vocals. We're big in Boston and just unlocked venues in New York and Chicago. We also won a Van so we can go on tour. There's a lot of songs I don't know but I've faked them. I think I will order some CDs from the library so I can make an iPod mix of tunes and practice! haha. I like the career mode. My girl is hot with little pig tails, jelly bracelets, and (I kid you not) Librarian glasses! AD Rokz has an orange shirt that has tears it in so it looks like he was attacked by a giant cat!

[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy took pics of me singing and playing the guitar too. He will probably post them on Facebooks to amuse me. hehe. It was really fun though. Can't wait to have a couple more friends over so we can have a whole band (though one of those friends will need to own an extra guitar).

Okay, must go, we are having an mini-BSG marathon! Starbucks is going to save Kobol now! Or something, I don't remember, it's been forever since I watched season 1!

I think RB is alot of fun, but just be careful, because everything is very cheaply made. We had the drum pedal snap in half on us, and a friend of ours guitar stopped working (the strum wouldn't register anymore).

yeah, it was hard to miss the bright pink piece of paper that said "STOP if something is broken, contact Harmonix immediately!" Made me paranoid (and then I sang a song about it)!

There were a lot of songs that I didn't know that I knew! I started having high school flashbacks when he sang Weezer 'Say it ain't so'. Had not heard that since my friend forced me to listen to it haha.

Yes, a mix is in order!

we almost called you from Target to ask you to come get us. We were just a bit punchy. But I think we'll be breaking this game out after or during the Buffy party. It's pretty fun. :)

what did you play? AD says he can't do the guitar because he tries to play it like a real guitar. He was enjoying the drums though.
