Well, it was not meant to be. Our internet went out at 11:50am this morning and I waited to see if it would come back on, and when it wasn't on at 12:30 I called Ticketmaster and they told me BOTH of the Flight of the Conchords shows were sold out. :( Ah well.

So AD and I went to the mall and spent the money I would have spent on tickets on more random things. I FOUND THE WIRELESS ROCK BAND GUITAR! Gamestop had it on the shelf. (I've decided to save AD's Best Buy gift card for Mario Kart on Wii). We also went into Hot Topic because I wanted to buy some Rockstar accessories for AD & I, so now we can wear them while we rock and roll.

I was in a silly mood, okay :P

I just finished my cataloging homework. That stuff is confusing but interesting. I can't imagine doing it all day...well, actually I can. It takes up a lot of time!

And we just played Rock Band with me singing and playing guitar/bass while AD did guitar/bass too!

Now it is time to watch BSG!

craigslist works really well for tickets, although my experience is more with selling than buying. I'm counting on craigslist to bail me out of my REM mess..

Yeah, I'm not going to stress about it too much. Plus there were 6 of us trying to get tickets and I'd feel bad to go without them now!

Oh, and to answer your question that you posted on Tumblr, record labels set aside a TON of tickets to give to radio station staff, record stores, and other random people they want to schmooze with (like sometimes local companies have box seats that they save for their higher ups) and fan clubs buy a chunk too. Any they don't plan to use they slowly give back, so sometimes you can find awesome seats on the night of the show. [livejournal.com profile] sideflip did this the first time I met her, at a Pearl Jam show, she got front row seats by buying tickets at the door. Madness.

Also, you need to cross-post your tumblr blogs to here so I remember to read them. Or I can set up an RSS feed to LJ of your tumblr...

ok, thanks- I'll keep trying ticketmaster and craigslist. The concert hasn't sold out.. I think REM is one of those groups where you either pay for a good seat or you look at what's left and decide you don't need to see them THAT bad. So the good seats sold out and now people are like, eh.

I don't know what to do about the blog thing.. I started the tumblr b/c I was reading some other tumblrs and I liked the "microblogging" idea (quick random posts multiple times per day). But then I quickly realized that NO ONE needs to hear from me 4-5 times a day- it's really set up for people who are always online, always checking feeds, texting, posting from their iPhones, etc. Which is pretty much none of my friends. So I'm treating it like a regular blog, which means I should be back here or on Wordpress, b/c as a regular blog I find tumblr to be limited. I'm leaning toward wp, but I want to stay here to stay on yours and Alan's radar.. I know I can feed lj or wp to tumblr, so I guess what I need to do is figure out if I can feed lj to wp or vice versa, and then create a bittertwee empire (queue evil laugh) and make all of my friends happy. Or sick to death of me..

well, as I am one of those people that checks their blog/email constantly (I've got a pavlovian response to computer beeps now, OMG EMAIL!) I don't mind. :) I thought I had one set up for your wordpress, but I might have forgotten. If you start posting there, remind me to double check.

haha- sorry! I was thinking of people *even more* insane than you-- You at least don't blog from work (or do you??) and when you're out you aren't constantly texting to update us all on your every move (or if you are, I'm out of the loop!). One of the tumblrs I read regularly is from a guy who seems to *only* blog at work. I thought I might post from work too, but then my conscience kicked in and I realized working at work would be a better idea.

I'll update you once I figure this all out.

yeah I don't blog or do anything personal online (besides email) while at work (though sometimes I think of things to blog about while at work). It's hard to do when you're on a public service desk! I'm always amazed by how much my Star Wars buddies are online while at work. On my fridays off, they are always IMing and posting to the boards during work hours. But I feel the same way you do - my guilt kicks in. Plus, the IT guys can SEE what you're doing if they want too, so I get paranoid. Not that I'd post anything bad but still...

Wow, 12:05! They will have to come back after season 2! I mean, come on.

I'll just sit down with a chart and make a list of why the DVDs are better than the actual live concert.

1. more portable...

I read gawker, which seems to get all of its comments during work hours. They try posting stuff in the evenings or on weekends, but those posts usually die. Honestly, I don't know why companies don't crack down on this.

So I spent the day creating a wordpress blog (http://bittertwee.wordpress.com/. I'm pretty happy with it) which should feed to my tumblr bog.. I hope you'll be able to put one of those in a feed or something? Or do I need to do something? Let me know..

And now you've reminded me that I SHOULD have been doing my taxes today-- CRAP!
