BSG: Deadlock
Feb. 23rd, 2009 11:43 pmAck! I forgot to post my thoughts on this week's episode! Okay, so it wasn't as OMGWTFr as the past few weeks have been, but all in all, lots of shit went down and things have changed...
- Ellen is back. To paraphrase from Spaceballs - "Oh shit, there goes the Battlestar."
- Why was Six down in the slums getting food??? Tigh isn't bringing her enough snacks? or did she have some weird preggers Cylon craving for gruel?
- I know I've said this before but I <3 Doc Cottle.
- Nice to see the return of Head Six, just as helpful as ever. I'm a bit worried about that lot packing automatic weapons but maybe it will go well (HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA - sorry forgot what show I was watching for a minute there!)
- Did anyone wait for the mother of Lil' Gaius to say that Baltar was his dad? At first I thought that was the insinuation but then decided that apparently Gaius is like Timmy on whichever colony Baltar was from (yes, I'm a bad fangirl, I don't have it memorized...)
- Not enough Kara in this episode, always an issue, but she was still a bad-ass in her 60 second scene with Tyrol.
- Speaking of, I'm happy that Galen stood up for Sam when they had their little voting-off-the-BSG moment. Tori was all "We don't know how Sam would vote" and Chief immediately jumped in and told her he would vote to stay. I think this speaks a lot about their characters right now. Tori did a total 360 once she found out she was Cylon and now has nothing but contempt for the human race. Galen has a weird mix of memories from Earth and from BSG, so is sort of ambiguous towards humans. Tigh remembers almost nothing of his time on Earth (he says as much to Ellen) which is why he is still the XO. Ellen has reverted back to her previous personality, she remembers everything but her Cylon identity is stronger than her human one. Sam...well, if he ever wakes up (and I'm hoping all that brain activity we saw at the very end of the episode means he'll be back soon) , appears to still feel a strong connection to the humans, though it might just be his love for Kara that does that.
- Creepy moment: When Galen stared at Boomer and then ID'd her to the crew. Roslin is clearly not over that whole "shooting Bill" incident.
- The secret to Cylon/Human pro-creation is True Love? At least, according to Ellen it is. Apparently Giselle from Enchanted taught Sex Ed. on Earth...
- I was shocked that Six lost the baby, after all that we had been through with her, after having them set up as a happy family. So sad for both of them. When Saul falls into Adama's arms at the end and bawls his eye out...too sad.
- and we have all heard the statistics about couples that lose a child...but I really don't want Saul/Six to be doomed...I was just getting to like them.
- Ellen called incest on Tigh yet she did it with Cavill. And Galen did it with Boomer. Leaving only Sam and Tori who have not frakked one of their own creations...but who knows!
- Perhaps this episode should have been called "Integration". It's weird to see that their greatest fear is actually getting used to living with Cylons.
All in all, not the best episode of the season, but clearly very important. A lot of stuff went on in this episode when it comes to the relationships between the Final 5, the "regular" Cylons, and the humans. Next week will clearly be an intense show, if the previews are any indication.
I can't believe there are only 4 episodes left and that is it...*poof*...

Me too. I hate Tori. SO MUCH.
bawls his eye out
LOL.
I was confused when that 6 and 8 were talking around Sam. For a second, I thought it was Caprica and Athena, but then when they talked about how "one of the Sixes" got attacked, I realized it wasn't Caprica and felt stupid b/c Athena would never be like, "OMG BASESTAR PLZ."
Maybe Ellen and Saul assumed the "mom and dad" roles over the other Cylons, and the other three didn't play such an important role in their creation. Or maybe Ellen was just being a melodramatic, petty bitch.
