way to save my tax dollars
May. 6th, 2009 07:13 pmSo I received not one, not two, but THREE letters from the Maryland Comptroller today. Talk about heart-attack inducing. As usual, they read like stereo instructions in Japanese, but the gist is, I did something wrong, though I was going to get a refund of $330 but they say I owe them money. The first letter says "send us money NAOW!" while the second letter says "oh, wait, you did have a refund coming your way so we'll just use that" and the third letter says "you will get a refund of $8.88 - thank you for living in Maryland!"
Blah. Ah well, at least I don't actually owe them any money. At least, I don't think I do. Honestly, if I'd opened the envelopes in reverse order, I would probably be writing them a check now. Why does this have to be so gorram confusing? Why can't they just figure out the taxes for me and just tell me what the deal-o is?
In other news, AD is *this* close to putting the finishing touches on my computer. Hopefully she will last me until the release of Windows 7. Once that comes out, I think I'll just buy a whole new computer so I can play Sims 3 in style.
Oh, and Wil Wheaton spazzed all over his blog and Twitter about how awesome the new Star Trek movie so now I'm really looking forward to Sunday.
Okay, time to go reconfigure Thunderbird and Firefox, install all my wacky fonts, etc.
