the art of the ringtone

So, now that I have an iPhone and the ability to easily edit my songs into 30 second ringtone clips (and easily upload them too, that was the hardest thing with me old phone), I'm sitting here trying to decide what tone should be my main, default ring.
It's hard to find the perfect ringtone. You want it to say something about you. But you also don't want it to be loud and obnoxious so that you annoy everyone any time your phone goes off. You want it to get your attention but not make you jump 30 feet in the air.
My previous ringtone that I've for YEARS is the theme from the U.S. version of "The Office". It was the perfect ringtone. It started soft, with just the piano, giving me ample time to find the phone if I was in a quiet place. But it progressively gets louder so that if I was out and about, I would eventually hear it over other noises around me. Plus, there were not lyrics to worry about, just a simple melody that was able to survive coming out of a tiny phone speaker.
So now I'm sitting here, pondering what songs to edit down.
I've already made the Dr Horrible theme into a ringtone, as an experiment. This might end up being my default, though it starts rather loud.
I thought about the Battlestar Galactica theme, but it might be too soft (plus, it has to be under 30 second). The intro theme (or Head!Six theme) would probably drive me crazy, though it would get my attention.
The Buffy theme is a minute long, so I'd have to edit it down, same with Angel.
30 Rock might be fun, if I can find it online somewhere.
So, while I'm sitting here pondering all of this - tell me - what is your current default ringtone? Do you have personlized ringtones for different people? What are they?
