Pink Hair Streaks

The pink hair dye took a LOT better this time. She still didn't bleach my hair, she just slopped it on and put me in the dryer for 10 minutes and cooked it into the hair. I had her put a little bit in my bangs. There's also some in the sides and the back. The idea is that it is in the layers, so if I let my hair lie flat, you won't see the pink as much (i.e. at work) but if I style it a bit more, the pink will be more obvious.

But the bangs will always show.

I really like it. Once it grows out/fades I might go back and get a more hardcore color, but right now I'm going to try this out and see how many double takes I get from library patrons.

it looks really cool! i agree with others' comments. stylish, funky, cool, but can still be professional. and the pink really does seem to suit you.

what's funny/interesting/neat is that i just did something similar to my hair! i wanted color in my hair again, but not the strong bold streaks/highlights i've gotten in the past, but wanted something more subtle where you can see some color, but can still be professional. so i got streaks/highlights in the back underneath and a few on the sides. so if i pull it up or style it a certain way, it's more visible. i still need to take pictures of it. got it done in india before i came back. the salon called the color magenta. and they did it the same way where they didn't have to bleach it first. just put the color on and applied heat. whenever i've gotten various shades of red, this is what they do. when i've gotten blue, purple, turquoise, etc., they've had to lighten my hair first.

apparently it is obvious enough to notice though, all the ladies at work were like "oooh PINK!" I'm going to attempt to style it a bit tomorrow, see how it looks flipped up.

I remember when you had those streaks in your hair. I really think she *should* have bleached my hair before she put the color in, but I didn't want to tell her how to do her job, ya know? If I do it again, I might suggest that. It's so fun to try something new like this.

Glad you had a good trip, I just flipped through your first set of photos on Facebook. That rock garden is amazing! Plus all the colors in India are so gorgeous - the golds, the pinks, just scattered in buildings.

You just gotta do something crazy sometimes. Plus, it's just hair, it grows back. Plus, I have the excuse of Dragon*Con next week, so that helps too haha.
