Donations SCORE!
Jun. 21st, 2010 04:00 pmSomeone donated this to the library today. Sadly, the library no longer carries this book so I couldn't add it the system. So I took it home with me instead. I love this book - last time we saw AD's nieces, I read this to them about 30 times in a single day, I swear. It never gets old to me. I mean, it's pretty much just Grover having an anxiety attack for several pages as the reader thwarts his every move - how is that not hilarious?
I actually have a Sesame Street shelf of random books that have been donated or discarded ("Big Bird Goes to the Library" and checks out records...yeah, just a bit outdated but still adorable!).
Oddly enough, I never actually read this book as a child, even though it was originally published in 1971. Go figure.

Date: 2010-06-21 11:05 pm (UTC)I had one or two copies of this book when I was a kid. I remember my parents reading it to me. My most vivid memory of the book is when he builds the brick wall. I LOVED this book!
I was actually talking about this book to my roommate a few weeks ago, and she'd never heard of it. I ended up Googling for pictures of the book's pages and found most of them. How cool that you came into a copy of it!
