Picked up the new Maroon 5 album today. Actually had already listened to it twice via Spotify but decided I'd like to have it. I went to Target and they had a "deluxe" edition which, it turns out, is what I was listening ot on Spotify so I bought that for the extra music tracks.

It was hot as a very hot thing today. 101 degrees. And, of course, I had errands to run. And I waited until noon to run them. Yes, I'm a genius. Then I came home and *finally* beat the original PORTAL game. I can hold my head up high and make "the cake is a lie" jokes without being a poser anymore.

OH I watched my first bit of Louie C.K. comedy this morning. He kept popping up on my tumblr dashboard and I decided I wanted to see a bit of his stand-up. Netflix obliged (another reason I didn't get out the door when I meant to this morning...couldn't find a good place to break).

LEGEND OF KORRA - I'm all caught up now. I really love this show. Like Avatar, it has a great mix of humor, deep thought, and dark things. I liked the finale well enough but...well...

it was a bit anti-climactic. Amon's reveal was great and I really thought it was going to be the villain for the rest of the series. But Korra just manages to shove him out the window with her airbending and then he reveals his bending ability to his followers. Oops. I mean, he could have played it up! He could have stayed underwater and played dead and made Korra take the blame. A martyr can have SO much power, he knows this - that's why he didn't kill Korra when he had the chance. And then to be blown up by his brother? Meh, I dunno. Who is our big bad for this series????

Also, I was shocked that Korra got her bending back at the end. I thought that would be the mission for next season, to recover her bending, but she got it back with just a little bit of a push from Ghost!Aang. And then she was able to restore everyone else's bending, no problem. I dunno, seemed a bit too tidy for the end of the first season :( I guess I was expecting more of a cliffhanger.

BUT I still LOVED the entire season. While the finale didn't go where I expected, it wasn't like other fandoms *coughharrypottercough* where I had thought of a better ending. My ending was just different but I'm sure they have the next 3 seasons planned out the way they had Avatar.

Though I think Bolin is way cuter than Mako. I kinda wanted Korra to fall for him by the end of the season. Wasn't really in to the love triangle. But I've always preferred the Xander types. :)

Since we finished watching Arrested Development, [livejournal.com profile] maybedeadcat & I are now flipping between Avatar (since I wanted to rewatch it and he never saw it) and Venture Bros. (since I've never seen them and he owns them all) with the occasional Futurama thrown in. Very animated evenings haha. I'm liking Futurama a lot more than I originally did. When it first aired, I remember not being impressed, but perhaps I was too young or not quite at the right nerd level to get the jokes. The ones that Tim has shown me I've enjoyed.

OH and we are also slowly moving through Ranma 1/2, the first anime I've really watched since a brief stint with Full Metal Alchemist back in the day. It's cute. Not quite on the level of the other 3 shows we are watching but fun.

Shit...storming outside...and Firefox is spinning like crazy...wonder if I've lost Internet...time to save EVERYTHING! BRB!

Yep, had a storm last night, wild weather, posting this now :)

Yey for Futurama! I became addicted to that show a few months ago, haha.

Is Venture Bros. any good? I've heard about it and it's been recommended to me, but I haven't watched it yet.

I love Korra, but I agree that it does have its shortcomings in the finale. The pacing was really off to me (as compared to the other episodes) and I feel that the way they tied up everything seems unsettling but Korra is different from the other shows I normally watch so I'll just wait for the second book. :)

Venture Bros. is AWESOME! It took me a few episodes to get in to it, but we're on Season 3 now and I'm loving it. It's very twisted LOL. It's making fun of SO many things - superheroes, comics, movies, cartoons etc.. It's very smart and immature at the same time. I would def. give it a chance. :)

oh yeah, I'm not going to give up on it. I was thinking today about how much the ending surprised me and how FEW shows actually can surprise me and also WTF are they gong to do next season??? So I can't wait to see where her new adventures lead her. :)

totally didn't expect the boat to blow up, but, it's been so good so I'm sure that the next season will be awesome. (only two seasons T.T)
