tv thoughts: American Horror Story Asylum

maybedeadcat watch and I flailed at him afterwards. Here are my thoughts/ideas/theories/ramblings so far:
First, can we just talk about how awesome it is to see SO MANY of the cast members from Season 1 back again? I just REALLY like so many of these actors so it is great to see them again. NETWORKS - WE CAN HANDLE THEM PLAYING NEW CHARACTERS! SEE?
Second, LOL @ Adam Levine's big "part". They kept talking about it online and I don't think he survived this episode.
Thirdly (yeah we're done with this numbering thing now) - I like how this season is kind of reversed, that the main story is in the past and the little story will be in the present. Or something. Who knows if that is how it will stay or if that is just the first episode.
Trying to remember what Ryan Murphy said the "theme" for this year would be. Last season was infidelity. So far we have at least 3 "forbidden" relationships floating around -- the white/black marriage, the two lesbians, and the nun fantasizing about the priest. And I guess the opening couple who liked having sex in haunted houses could count too.
I don't think he is "bloody face". I feel like he is a red herring, like they brought him in and told the press he was the criminal but I'm not convinced he actually is. I think that the guys from the gas station murdered his wife horribly and framed him and the alien thing is how he is rationalizing it in his brain (though I can't explain the damn chip-turned-cockroach moment).
Though maybe he is...the mad scientist is mutating inmates, doing the opposite of a labotomy and tapping in to their crazy then letting them run wild somewhere behind the asylum? I guess they stay on the grounds and don't run off to eat other people LOL?
I'm wondering if Grace is a ghost...can't remember if I saw anyone have any direct interaction with her...or are ghosts so last season?
Or maybe it is about pride...the priest clearly has some high aspirations. And Jude does too, even though she plays it very close to her chest (though she wants to play it even closer *wink wink*). (also Joseph Fiennes! Haven't seen him in forever!)
GAH SO MUCH GOING ON! I just hope they havent' bitten off more than they can chew this season. Feels like a lot of story threads already. And a lot of weird, creepy editing. But, it is AHS, the *KNOW* why people are watching. If you saw last season, you know it's crazy, and if you are just tuning in now, you hard about the crazy so you're expecting it.
