Sleep Hollow - Pilot

So, the commercials for Sleepy Hollow did not do that show justice. In fact, I had actually decided not to watch it right away after hearing the radio ad because it just sounds so ridiculous when you say the plot out loud.

Then I get a text from my Mom on Monday night saying that it was really good and that the main guy is another attractive British man for her to watch.

So I figure, what the heck, let's try it. I even told Tim that if it was bad, we could turn it off. We made dinner and pulled up Hulu and braced ourselves...

...holy crap, it was actually GOOD!



There was the humor element that I wanted, poking fun at Ichabod's 250 year gap in knowledge...I fell in love with the show when a Captain America joke was tossed his way. <3

I did NOT expect the show to actually creep me out. The freaky demon at the end was definitely the most intense, but the horseman was disturbing enough. I am hoping that as the season goes on, the scares will increase.

Should have known almost all the actors I recognized were not going to make it! At least Orlando Jones survived.

It had some cheesy moments, it was the pilot and you can see they are trying to sell the show and set up a series. But what I thought was going to be just a retelling of Legend of Sleepy Hollow turns out to be this incredibly involved play on the apocalypse, and we all know I like a good one of those! Hellmouth Sleepy Hollow is clearly going to be a hotbed of demon activity with the impending doom and all, so it should be a fun monster-of-the-week show, with a bit of an arc thrown in as they try to unravel the end of the world



If you haven't given it a chance, go to FOX or Hulu now and watch it NOW. I think this one might be a keeper.

i watched it because i KNEW it was going to be just fucking awful


and it totally wasn't I was very surprised. I mean trying to explain it to other people makes it sound terrible but it was really interesting.

I don't love it yet but I see the potential in Sleepy Hollow. I'm going to see how the next few shape up and hopefully it will be utterly awesome :)
