Saw Anchorman 2 on Friday and it was just what I needed. A turn-your-brain-down laugh fest. Highly quotable, ridiculous, and just enough throwback jokes to satisfy fans but not so many you wonder why they made a new movie.

I sorta love James Marsden and the fact that he totally tricked me, pretending to just be another pretty boy actor in X-Men and actually being a hilarious guy. His role on 30 Rock as Liz's boyfriend Chris was just fantastic. Jack Lime was perfect for him.

ANYWAY - Anchorman 2 had everything I wanted. I actually felt like they did a pretty good job of making Ron grow just enough for you to believe that Veronica would stay with him but still having him be a dufus when it came to other aspects of the world. My favorite scene, just like in the first movie, was the news crew rumble.

The only real issue I had with this movie was how sorta depressed you can get afterwards when you realize the news they are poking fun at is the news that dominates our television screens. But if you have a drink of scotch, scotch, scotch you can forget all about it for awhile. <3

Did you see it? What was your favorite moment?

I haven't seen the second movie yet (though I want to) but this - "A turn-your-brain-down laugh fest" - is a perfect description of the first movie. I was in a really bad place the first time I saw the original, and it brightened my day considerably.

Well, I hope you're in a good place when you see Anchorman 2 and you **still** laugh your self silly. :)
