I'm trying to catch up on 'Once Upon a Time'. This happens EVERY YEAR it has been on, I swear. I get about halfway through the season, they have their break, and I forget about it's existence. I think it needs to be like Game of Thrones or Doctor Who and just have 12 really solid episodes. I always feel like they start to flail around the middle of the season, trying to find a way to stretch it out to 24 episodes. And so I'm not compelled to keep watching...and then shit goes down the last few episodes and I'm like OMG LOVE IT. Bah, OUaT will be my Thursday morning show once I have my Thursday mornings back!

I've been flipped to Thursday AM all this month do to our Babies program. Babies used to be my least favorite, but I'm actually enjoying it now (maybe because Toddlers are too much for me). I've managed to write out 4 plans for the program and keep rotating them and the parents and babies are awesome. I've got two more left in this month, then I flip to either Toddlers or PreK...can't remember which.

Oh and the blessed release of Early Voting! Our library is an Early Voting location so we can't use the meeting room so no storytimes for 2 weeks!!! You have no idea how happy this makes me and the rest of the storytime team. (This whole thing was launched in March and no one really thought about the reality of how much staff time it would take to do programming 3 times a week for forever...)

Which is why I probably enjoyed this tasty beverage so much last night:



It's the new seasonal cider - Elder Flower. I could really taste the difference. bittertwee once told me she felt like drinking Earl Grey tea was like drinking perfume. I think the same could be said for the flavor of this drink. But I love Early Grey. And I love the flower/fruity taste that this cider had. Though I think it might be better as a drink on it's own than with dinner.

Elder Flower is my favourite Angry Orchard; they had it last summer, I fell in love with it, and then the season ended and they moved on to something else. :( The other really good seasonal was the Green Apple. #angryorchardissogoodthough

No storytime for two weeks sounds FABULOUS. I will drink to your break in programming! I do not envy you having to plan storytimes; my head spins just watching/listening to my branch's storyteller talk about all the work she does.

I think I've had the green apple...but maybe not. I love green apples period so I should like the drink. :)

omg, you have no idea. This whole weekly storytime was just dropped on us in March. We are NOT Children's librarians nor are we staffed appropriately to do this. The last three months have been hella stressful but we've made it through.

The finales are always so good and they really surprise me with the changes they make to the show...but I think if the seasons were shorter and tighter, the show would be that much better. It's too bad that networks demand 24 episodes for a run.

I have shows like that where I just fall behind - not necessarily because I don't like the show, but it just isn't a priority. I've watched the entire season of OUaT and it's mostly good, but there are filler eps.

Mike is a beer vendor and one of his products are the Angry Orchard ciders and sometimes he brings some home. I've never had the Elder Flower, but I liked the green apple.

The one I watched this morning was the Hook and Ariel story, which felt mostly like filler until the end but then I was just annoyed that Hook didn't say anything. But they need to drag things out a few more episodes, I guess. I really do like the show!

I wish I could remember if I've had the green apple! I think I have. I like the cinnamon one they did around Christmas time too.

Yeah, that was definitely a filler episode. I wasn't happy with Hook in that ep either. There are definitely a lot of moments where characters act stupid, or out of character to service the need to draw things out.

I've just started seeing signs for ACE at the liquor store up the rode. May have to try that out! I really enjoy hard cider for my cool summer drinks. :)

Yes to Once Upon a Time. I think this season actually used the full season well but they could have tightened up into a 12 episode season as well. It's got an amazing ending this year, love it!

I officially gave up on OUaT at the beginning of S3, which is a shame because it used to be my #1 currently airing show. It became the opposite of what I signed up for and it has some really big issues, so no thanks.

Haha! I do the exactly same thing with Once Upon A Time. I probably have 5-6 episode on the DVR waiting for me to watch. I mean, I know what happens because I caught parts of it but I still need to watch them.
