All caught up on S.H.I.E.L.D. now. Did anyone else feel like the editing in the final episode was a little sloppy? There was at least one fight scene that definitely had a jump where someone's body moved inhumanly fast, and it wasn't one of the centipede soldiers.

And then the weird scene with Bennett at the end. First they show his lifeless corpse being loaded into a casket of some kind. THEN they show him crawling around and dragging himself into the Deathlok machine...only to have Coulson make him explode? whaaaa? We were so confused by that whole moment. One of those scenes needed to go because they added nothing to the show.

No idea who Skye's parents are supposed to be. Wondering if I was a hardcore Marvel fan if I would have picked up on it by now.

Tim was upset about Ward's betrayal. He felt like it came out of nowhere. I'm wondering if I went back to rewatch the season if there would be any hints or not. Then again, he is a SUPER SPY so why is it so unbelievable to think he was able to fake it?

Mae is better than me. I would have put that nail through more than his toe.

All in all, a decent ending to the season. It definitely improved from where it started out...but it's still not up to par with my Whedon show standards. It's a high bar, I know, but if you're gonna put the Whedon name on it, you gotta rise up to the challenge. I'm hoping that Season 2 will be better. I do feel like they have found these characters and know what they are doing with the next arc. I just hope all of Season 2 isn't just a big prequel to the Avengers sequel. :-\

What's everyone else thinking? Did you make it to the finale?

I'm in the same boat all the way around. I also wish they had disguised the fact Sam Jackson wasn't there during the actual filming of the fight scene a little better.

I really hope 2 will be better.

Yeah, that was super cheesy just having them off to the side. I did enjoy the conversation though LOL.

If my track record proves true, most of the shows I've grown to love I've only sorta liked the first season of. **crosses fingers that SHIELD falls into this category**

Skipping to just the comments because I am still about 6 episodes behind and I don't want to get spoiled. I keep putting off watching the rest of the eps because the only reasons I have stuck around to this point is Joss Whedon's name AND Ming Na, whom I adore. I have heard it picks up a great deal so I am going to give a shot sometime before season 2 starts, haha. I think I am not as 'into' it because I am not super into the Marvel films/comics.

I'm here because of the Whedon connection as well. Hurry up and finish the season so we can discuss more! LOL. I really felt like I could hear the Whedon voice in the finale.

Haven't started that series yet- it's waiting on my harddrive for me to have a few nights where I am not passing out by 9pm! Looking forward to it though =)

I think it will probably be more enjoyable to watch back-to-back vs having to wait a week (or months) between episodes. Curious to hear what you think. It's not the best thing ever, but compared to a lot of other stuff out there, it's a fun way to spend 40 minutes.

FitzSimmons is my happy place and I've been wanting them to date a third from the start and now there is Trip who is awesome and should be this third.

I think Ward being Hydra was awesome and made the show that much more interesting.

I'm wondering what, if anything, they will do with Ward next season.

And I ADORE FitzSimmons too. After Melinda, they are my favorites.

I loved the finale. I loved the whole show to be honest. I marathoned it within two and a half days. I didn't notice any odd edditing but then so much of the fight scenes are so out of my conception zone that it wouldn't surprise me if something went over my head.

Yeah Ward came out of nowhere but I feel that worked so well because it did. And yeah sky so yeaaaah.

I'm thinking this show might be better if marathoned vs waiting weeks and months for new episodes. We watched it regularly but then there holiday break happened and we never went back then just caught up.

I'm still planning on watching Season 2!

I really like Evil Ward. As a good guy he was just there. Now he's fascinating.

I don't love Shield the way that I love Buffy or Firefly but there's potential there :)

So true! He was just the good-looking good guy and did not interest me at all. Now he is a lot more interesting and I'm hoping they look at that a little bit more next season.

Yes, lots of potential to grow and I'm hoping in Season 2, they have found their footing enough to hit the ground running at full speed!
