Album meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] msdillydally:

I've been challenged to list 10 albums that have had an impact on me. This challenge is not about best sellers or classics...just 10 albums that have had an effect on you in some way and it does not have to be in any particular order.

(this was WAY more challenging than the ten books because I haven't really held an album in my hands in a long while. I was going to look in the box under my bed for some of the CDs I owned, because I kept all the ones I loved, but I'm going to go with the ten I can think of while sitting here at the desk because it's quiet tonight and I need to amuse myself)

1. Hard Day's Night -- The Beatles (my favorite Beatles album, with my favorite song 'If I Fell')

2. Everybody Else is Doing It So Why Can't We? -- The Cranberries (my mom bought this the same day I bought the Pocahontas soundtrack. I remember scoffing at her for listening to pop music but it quickly became one of our favorite albums to listen to)

3. Under the Table and Dreaming -- Dave Matthews Band (I was obsessed with The Beatles through most of high school and had given up on modern music, until I found DMB. I have a soft spot for acoustic guitar)

4. Off the Deep End -- Weird Al Yankovic (the first Weird Al album that I bought and listened to and actually knew the songs he was mocking!)

5. Out of the Blue -- Debbie Gibson (the first album I ever bought. I doubt I could listen to it now, but at the time, this was my 7-year-old-me's jam)

6. Live on Two Legs -- Pearl Jam (my online friend convinced me to listen to this one, a live album with a mix of their hits and other stuff, it blew me away. I had dismissed grunge up until that moment)

7. Kid A -- Radiohead (probably the weirdest album that I like, Radiohead expanded my musical ear in a way I never expected)

8. Vice and Virtue -- Panic at the Disco (I just love and adore this album, every song, no regrets)

9. Antidote -- Rockwell Church (I actually got to visit them in the recording studio while they were making this. It was probably the coolest I have ever felt LOL).

10. Garden State (soundtrack mix) (Zach Braff hand-picked the songs for this movie and I loved the film so much I bought the CD and it introduced me to several new artists, like the amazing Imogen Heap)

That's so cool that you got to listen to a band recording their album.

I liked Kid A (though my favorite Radiohead album is OK Computer). My favorite song off that album is "Idioteque".

And Hard Day's Night and the Garden State album <3 Good picks.
